  1. Sunday Shave

    Cold water
    Pso-Homemade mint oil
    Razor-Gillette Flare Tip SS
    Blade- Feather (2)
    Brush- RazoRock Plissoft
    Soap- RazoRock XXX
    Thayers Witch Hazel
    ASB- Pinaud "Veg"

Everything came together today for an irritation free BBS. After reading all the talk the last few days on the XXX I decided to use it today. I love the scent and it almost lathers itself. The Flare Tip and RazoRock brush worked flawlessly. I had a full 2 days growth and the Feather mowed it down. It was much smoother on the second day than on the first. I went right to left, then left to right, then up. I only had 1 small spot left to touch up for the baby. The Thayers cooled everything off and the Veg finished it up. It was a great way to wipe away the last few days.

I continued my focus on face stretching today to prepare for a SR. It really improves the comfort of my shave as well as the closeness. Thank you @Bama Samurai for the suggestion, also notice I finally have Flare. Have a great day folks!

  4. Is the Merkur is the running for favored razor status?
  5. Glad Noxzema worked for you Clint, i think it's excellent and after trying others I find my shaves are consistently better when using it. I think I know why now...hydration! It seems to leave the face hydrated for shaving. As you said the cooling effect feels nice and I find the medicinal eucalyptus scent comforting also. :)
  6. I normally use an unscented shea butter face soap as a pre-shave face wash. After Kerry's post about using Noxzema, I asked my wife to pick me up some to give it a try. It didn't leave my face as slick as the shea butter soap but I did like the cooling effect. Also the scent dissipated quickly so it didn't clash with the soap. I can see using it more during warm weather. It also helps that it is available in stores and not something that I need to order.
  7. Thank you. I did enjoy it and will continue to use it going forward.

  8. How are you guys using the Noxzema? As a face wash with a full rinse or are you leaving it on like a pre shave oil?
  9. You can do both! It's an excellent pre shave. For pre shave wash I just dip my brush into the container and face lather it but I'm actually cleansing. Works great! :)

  10. Any shave with a Feather and skin stretching should be super close! Good work today. And I love the fact that you wear the Veg, I put some on after my ISZ AS today.
  11. I had forgotten that eucalyptus was the primary note in Noxzema. Seems like a natural match for Proraso Green. Will need to investigate...:happy088:
  12. I used it as a pre-shave face wash with a full rinse leaving my face clean and wet. Then proceeded to face lather as normal.

  14. I don't think so, it's very nice! I like it a bunch, but I love my mongoose and blackbird and even a lot of my Gillette's. It's just a nice razor to have in my den.
