03/21/2016 Wolfman OC with Hempel Ti Feather (1) Rudy Vey Rover with TGN Finest Mystic Water Orange Vanilla Witch Hazel Fine L’Orange Whipped Shea Butter After dialing in the water/soap ratio, the MW Orange Vanilla provided excellent slick lather. The dominant scent is that of orange zest with a warm vanilla base. With a fresh Feather blade I went with a XTG and ATG 2 pass shave trying to pay attention to my problem areas as I went. After minor touch ups I ended with a near BBS shave which is the normal for a work day. Finished off with a splash of Fine L'Orange. I hope everyone has a great Monday.
3/21/16 Gillette Birth Quarter Super Speed (Y3) Wilkinson Sword (3) Vulfix Super Badger (660) Chiseled Face Sherlock Georgetown G12 Scuttle Pinaud Clubman Original Last day with my Birth Quarter Super Speed this month. The Wilkinson Sword performed well today. Two passes and touch up captured the baby. Chiseled Face Sherlock continues to please. The lather is thick and slick, and easy to make. The clubman stung, but not excessively. Tomorrow I'll put a fresh Wilkinson Sword in my Gillette New LC. I hope everyone has a super Monday.
Cortez High School, near Metrocenter Mall. (The post office that sorted the package was by there, so I am assuming you are pretty close.)
This is why I am on my 15th consecutive focus. It truly helps. This month, I am focusing on limiting myself to two passes and touch ups. Getting some of my best shaves ever.
SOTD March 21, 2016 March focus shave 19 Menthol Monday! Prep: Warm shower Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick G1 injector Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic Lather: Proraso Green shave soap Post: Witch hazel splash, TSD SubZero after shave, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up Nice shave this morning. The cold snap here in temperatures (lows 30s F at the moment) added to the chill of the menthol theme! The cold water shave did too. But overall a nice CCS with one pass and touch-up. This is my third consecutive shave with the G1 injector. It performs really, really well. I like it. I'll probably do a focus with it one these days. I'll go back to my open comb tomorrow. Feeling nice and cool on this Monday. I hope you all have a great day!
I'll send a crew by to pick up the fee to allow your delivery guy to sleep it off. Between your guy and my guys I hope to see at least one bottle arrive full.
SOTD March 21, 2016 Prep: Hot Shower. Noxzema Razor: Merkur Futur Blade: Personna Lab Blue Lather: Stirling Spice Brush: RazoRock Plissoft Post: Thayers Rose Petal WH. Gold Bond Ultimate Aftershave: CF Trade Winds Fabulous shave. Slick and close. I've come to the conclusion that I'm not going to mess around subpar shaving soaps, I'm going to use two as my standard, Route 66 and Stirling, with little leeway if a soap doesn't perform its gone. a lot that I have will not make the cut. Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try
I am at the same point with shaving soaps as well. Over time, I have become more picky in what I want out of soaps and going forward I am not settling for things that don't match or exceed my expectations. I have been giving samples away and working through my inventory of soaps with the goal of having 5 or less brands of soap that I use exclusively.
I've also reached this conclusion. The five listed earlier are tops, if soap doesn't match performance, no thanks...
You were a "Cortez Colt"! Cortez is literally around the corner and down the street from us It's in the same district (Glendale UHSD) where I taught for 27 years. Years ago, there was a volleyball coach there, Sharon A, who coached some killer, often undefeated, teams. I was the varsity coach at Thunderbird High and it was indeed a task to put out a team that could compete against hers. My third year we finally defeated them in a regular season squeaker of a game, then ended up meeting them again in the division playoffs. We beat them in yet another squeaker, to earn a spot in the State Tournament. My proudest coaching moment ever
