First I would appreciate if a member can tell me what Gillette I have here. The trimmer is a Merkur stamped Germany, but the de is gold tone with just Gillette and pat pend and reg stamped. So anywho I popped a crystal Israel in the bad boy and holy crap I got a weeper that wouldn't quit, I thought I was going to need a transfusion. I have not cut or nicked myself in a long time, oh well. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Gillette Ball End Tech. A nice and mild shaver. Enjoy it!

Nice razor. I find it my mildest, safest razor, i.e. the one least likely to hurt me. I guess YMMV. Maybe try a different blade or angle as its a great razor.

Based on your description, it could be a late 1700s model Le Rasoir that was so popular with the outgoing French royalty of the time. I understand even Marie Antoinette had one.

Safety razors were not invented until the mid to late 1800's, and he's already said that one is a Merkur corn trimmer, and the other is a Gillette Tech. Are you sure you are posting in the right thread?

Techs are the mildest of the mild razors. I'm surprised the OP was able to cut himself with one.

That's the one I have Jorvaljr so I guess it's about 1947 or so. I guess I cut myself due to new blade, bad angle, tried, let's see anything else

It was just a joke. Le Rasoir was another name for the guiottne.

The Tech is the mildest (whatever that means), but it gives many people BBS shaves, including me.
I use a "Fat" Tech that was manufactured from 38-45, some people say its a more "aggressive" Tech, but feels the same as later ones to me.
