March 23, 2016 The month of March has focused on two Schick E type razors: a Canadian E and a US E2, while also trying out different blades with each. Hot Shower Razor: Schick E2 Blade: NOS Schick Platinum (Holland) (3) Soap: Nancy Boy Signature Brush: Rooney 3/3 "Super" Silvertip TSD Witch Hazel Myrsol Blue Two-pass shave - XTG, ATG The beat goes on…another fine shave with this razor/blade combo! Maybe I should try the BillyFergie cut-back Feather Pro next in the E2? Cheers! RT
I never thought I would be able to use both hands when shaving with a straight, I stuck with it and now I can use both hands..... the scars have pretty much faded.
O Okay, I'll work on a pitch, practice it over and over so it comes out nice and smooth. I'll let you know if it works.
Just watched the weather on CBC. They say we are in for an extreme weather event. I've never heard it put that way before. Thanks for your kind words.
That's why I want to learn while using a DE, I'm just too pretty to bleed . Plus, I'm hoping it will help when I finally join the darkside
It's pretty easy, I do it all the time...if you think too much it becomes unnatural. Just stay in the zone and do it.
March into Artist Club Blades March 23 Razor - Feather SS Blade - (3) Brush - BoS Omega 10066 Soap - Proraso Post - Cold water, Alum, Nivea Ok, I'm officially bored with the Proraso but at least it produces a great lather. I really shouldn't say I'm bored, but I do prefer MWF and Tabac. Still, for a soap to get me through packing and moving, Proraso is doing a great job. Maybe I just need to add the Sandlewood to my collection for a bit of variety. I've actually never tried any Proraso other than the Green. Probably time. Anyway, on to the important stuff. The blade. Day three on the Dorco. Day one was surprisingly good. Day two a bit of a concern with a noticeable loss in smoothness. Day three......pretty much a repeat of day two. Still not as smooth as day one but not noticeably worse than yesterday either. And, the irritation level was a bit less today based on the alum. So, probably more about how I mishandled it with my left hand yesterday. The blade is not going to feel, for me at least, as smooth as a Kai Mild over several days, but if it stays at its current level a few more days I'd have to say it has the longevity to go the distance. Still surprising given the fact we all expected massive failure with this blade. On the moving front....three days to load and go time. It looks like internet may not follow exactly on time so there may be a few days when I go silent. Hopefully not for long but you know cable companies. I hate to complain too loudly though lest they send out their enforcer.
Wednesday Shave Cold water In Shower Prep- Noxzema Pso-Homemade mint oil Brush- RazoRock Plissoft Razor-Gillette Slim on 5 Blade- Astra SP (2) Soap- Kiss my Face mint Thayers Witch Hazel ASB- Pinaud "Veg" I love this razor! Three passes for a BBS shave. The Kiss my Face lathers like a dream, the Astra was smooth but cut close, very little irritation tonight. What little I had was cooled off by the Thayers. I finished with the "Veg". There was a problem with a small nick on my upper lip when using my left hand. This is going to take some work learning to use it because it feels like someone else is controlling it. I'm going to keep with it though because I want a cookie. On a sad note this will be my last use of the "Veg" tonight. My wife is off her pain pills from her surgery and she is not a fan. I am not Chosen after all, she was just heavily medicated
