After years of hot-water wet shaving, I converted over to cold-water during the summertime several years ago and haven't looked back! I enjoy the briskness and refreshing feel of cold water on the face, and more importantly, the feel of 'cold steel'—a straight razor dunked in a cold basin prior to a shave pass. Using warm lather from a scuttle doesn't diminish the appeal as the eye-opening chill of a cold final rinse leaves my skin feeling great post-shave prior to any application of aftershave or balm.

I have been cold water shav ing ever since I started using a straight razor...having ice cubes in the bathroom sink really help with sweeper and small cuts, not to mention a lot less irritation for my face.
I had a great cold water shave this morning. Like someone else mentioned, I guess I am a "seasonal" cold water shaver...spring/summer/fall. Winter time I tend to go lukewarm.

Not sure if anyone has seen this, but it recently popped back up in one of my news feeds. http://www.artofmanliness.com/2010/03/24/cold-water-shaving/
That's one of the articles that changed me over to the cold side a long time ago. It's a great read...
It's an easy procedure but it's difficult to explain without visuals. Let's page @RaZorBurn123 and ask if he can link it for you, he has authority.
For some reason, reading this evokes memories of one of my Uncles. lol He had one of the thickest Southern drawls ever.
