Three Pass Shaving Routine... Hot Water prep & massage with Argan Oil Rolls Razor Rolls Wedge Blade Hans Baier Silver Tip Badger Shannon's Silk Pyjama's Soap Thayers Original Witch Hazel I have been Using my Straight's over the last couple weeks that I have bought after Selling off just about near my whole Gem blade SE Collection..I just followed in that Note Today & had the Most Wonderful Dolphin Smooth Shave with my Wedge/Hollow Ground Rolls Razor..My blade is very sharp but sort of more Importantly its also very Smooth & Forgiving...A sharp Wedge blade is One thing but a Smooth One is Another.. I got a Hold of some hard to get Shannon's Soap here in the UK from a private Brit EBay Seller..Shannon's for me has Great Glide but lacks Cushion...I am coming form a Hollow Ground blade perspective here as that wouldn't be the case with a Modern Safety razor as its a Darn Fine Soap..That said I have found for me that a Traditional Tallow like Cella, Vitos or something like Volbora just cant be beaten for shaving with Hollow Ground SEs & Traditional Straights...I did read the ingredient's & it contains Tallow Oils..These Artisan soap makers in my View just water down the True Benefits of Tallow soaps when they add too many other fancy ingredient's..I enjoyed my Shave today with the Almighty Rolls.. Billy..
Friday's TESC Pre-Shave Oil Speick Shave Cream Jayaruh #51 synthetic The Bunny V3 with WILD comb Personna Injector CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Speick After Shave I must say that I was not looking forward to using the WILD comb, but I was pleasantly blown away with today's experience. The Speick Shave Cream face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #51 synthetic brush. Only one pass and touch ups with The Bunny V3 injector razor with WILD comb and a Personna Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Speick After Shave. It was a very smooth shave. There was no need for a second pass. I just did a few touch ups. The Speick SC is so slick I just wet my face and hit a few rough spots. I did not need to re-lather or do a full second pass. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Thursday: hot shower w/Mistral Black Amber bar soap Col Conk PSO Schick Golden 500 2+ passes Schick (?) Yardley Gold cream in a warm bowl DublDuck boar Thayers unscented w/aloe Tabac A/S I got busy this week with the Nationwide Box Tour and didn't have time to post Tuesday's shave and I almost don't have time to post this one from early this morning since it will be tomorrow in just a few hours and my shave is now 15 hours old. Anyhow, a very nice injector shave from my black handled Golden 500 with an unknown number of shaves on this blade but it still feels good so it stays in the razor. A couple of items from the Box Tour that I've never tried before, Col Conk's pre shave oil and Yardley Gold shave cream. Two thumbs up for the Col Conk and half a thumb for the Yardley. I'm probably not being fair to the Yardley since the sample I received was only enough for one shave but the lather was just average. Nothing wrong with being average but that's all it was. A nice scent and it left my skin feeling good but shaving performance was just average. Finally a dandy finish with Tabac. Interesting stuff this Tabac, it seems each time I use it I like it just a little more.
Friday morning's action: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Razorock Plissoft 26 mm Monster Junjie/Astra day 5 Tcheon Fung Sing Sottozero SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS A more chilly shave although not an out and out face-freezing one, but still cold enough to satisfy my menthol needs. I love this Sottozero soap's scent because it's so minty and fresh. The lather explodes off my Plissoft brush in record time, and the menthol sensation is nice - not quite as strong as Proraso Green, but still very enjoyable and this soap leaves a great post-shave feeling. The Aqua Velva is a hell of a chin-chiller and it has wonderful soothing to it. The wife ain't too gaga about the scent but c'est la vie! A good weekend to everyone in advance!
I see that Citranellol is in the soap puck ingredients. The original Rise shaving creams had "CitranellA". And the Rise's came out 4 years later than the Scottozero. Man, I wish the original Rise's were back today!!!

Another early morning shave with the SE. I found some leftover BWW Jolly Roger soap in the drawer and enjoyed the scent and performance. I noticed that I'm getting 2nd day red dots...almost look like irritation on my neck. I'm going to hold off a couple of days and go back to using straights this weekend. Have a good one gents.
