  1. Your pic has a sort of "old world/new world" look to it. Outstanding.

  7. Great photo buddy!

Did you know that your Palmolive Cool cream is the same as the Palmolive Menthol one from Italy?:)

…and now for something totally different.

On this most curiously wacky of days I’m summoning all the intestinal fortitude I can muster. Counter to my normal testosterone pumping, machismo strutting persona, I will be shaving with a razor commercially marketed as “The Deb Fashion Razor!”

Developed by (Schick) Eversharp in 1947 - 53, it was the second in line (model H2) to their first model (H1) known as the Ladies Fashion Razor.

    Amazing shave!

It is an incredible combination of efficiency and handling. Not knowing too much of the history, I suppose the red cover could double as a handle extension but using the white base alone shortens up the grip and minimizes the leverage required on a long handle to adjust the blade angle. (I’m guessing that perhaps the short version was designed for the underarm and the extension to be used for legs?)

Two-pass shave (XTG, ATG) and my face is as smooth as it’s been in nearly a year of this new wetshave routine of mine.

I originally purchased this on a dare, thinking - worst case scenario, I’ll give it to my wife…but this will seriously compete for my primary ‘travel’ razor!

    Cheers!

  10. That was interesting and most unexpected! Glad it worked so nicely for you. I guess it's strong enough for a man but made...you know where this goes! :happy102:
  11. To paraphrase the late, great Rudyard Kipling, you're a braver man than I am, Gunga Din.!
  12. Just a two pass, simple shave with the Standard and a Feather blade today. Quick shave due to limited time. Result was a decent DFS. So...a simple pic.[IMG]
  13. Simple is nice, Herm. :signs154:

    Thayer's Rose Witch Hazel

Too bad that KK was discontinued. I'll have to make this full tub and my 250g stash last for the next 20 years. (Hopefully longer)

Not to mention the same amount of Dusy Kabinett I have...:)
The Chubby is, IMO, unsurpassed with regard to lather production.
No matter what soap I choose, this brush is undaunted and is a lather machine.
The DRH Pink is gentle and aromatic and the Penhaligon's Hammam EdT is a superb rose.
Spring is in the air my friends.
    Have a rosy day!
  17. Vince, i guess that was the most fascinating and interesting post i believe I`ve read to date. I`ve often wondered what those little underarm things were like, now i know, thanks to you. Well, as far as being comfortable with your manhood, i think you proved it. BTW, the photos were superb.

  18. image.jpeg Razor: Gillette Fusion ProGlide POWER 2013 - Braun 8595 2005
Brush: Badassshaving Flaming Birch Black Badger 24/55
    Mug: VDH
Cream: Seifenglatt Shave Soap Barber Shop
    Pre shave: Electric Shave
    Post shave: hydrocortisone 10%

5 blades, 5 times the fun. So I whipped up the Seifenglatt in my VDH mug and off we go. A push of the power button on this light vintage Gillette, there is a new swivel head version that I'm dying to try, and the razor starts it wonderful song. Bzzzzzzzzz. WTG XTG ATG and all over the grain, no problem. Pat dry, add a little electric pre shave, and hit all the spots missed by the 5 blades with my classic Braun. Just wow! What a shave. Half a tub of hydrocortisone and I'm good to go. Have a good one.
