Guy, I have 5 Simpson brushes; from high end Manchurians to a best badger CH1 and a Wee Scot. They have never shed a single hair. I hope yours stops, but it would certainly be frustrating. The good news is that Amazon will most certainly replace it for you.
Thanks Joseph. Crossing my fingers that shedding stops within shaves under its belt. Caught me by surprise to be honest with you but also expected it to a little denser than it is. Swear the Colonel felt denser than this but that was two years ago.
When you consider that every Simpson brush is hand-tied, an occasional "misfire" is bound to occur. I would simply exchange it. Your generous friend would want you to do so, I have to presume. Good luck.
Sorry to hear about your issue. Ive never has a problem with Simpsons brushes. I have the same brush and its never shed a hair that I remember.

Arko April!!! 30 Day Rule Edition - SOTD 4 April 2016 Day 4 of 30 Ostensibly this first blade is a test to see how long a Derby lasts in Fatip. So far, so good! Put it all together today, did the SR skin stretch thing as was able to catch a two pass BBS with only some mustache touchup. Today's focus was on precise strokes, and maintaining a shallow 20deg angle at all times. Alum was nearly cool, and the Veg softly thanked me for being chosen. Derby Green going to day five! Well this morning i started off with a freakishly bad Ladas blade so halfway through my first wtg pass i switched out for a GSB and everything was gravy after that for a dolphin smooth finish. How wonderful Lumberjack is...my goodness! Tomorrow back to the N1 but i needed this break today as i missed my R41 dearly. Have a great shave and a great day guys.

OMG - what a soap this Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo is. My man Ray knows what he's talking about and whatever he said about it is 1,000% correct. If this is what Sharp Dressed Man smells like than it's a gorgeous scent and my Plissoft brush made the lather explode in a matter of 25 seconds. The menthol effect, like all the other Glacials jumped on me with such force that by the time I finished shaving my face felt almost numb. The Glacial Spearmint balm added a tremendous amount of extra menthol, and the Lemon Chill witch hazel felt borderline-painful with its own freeze and by the way - all 3 of these scents go very well together. What a dynamite shave this was!
