  1. Very nice lineup @Drygulch. :happy088:
  2. Excellent black & white picture @clint64.
  3. Nice picture, Doug!
  4. Thanks very much @Norcalnewb
  5. I noticed IB was out of stock on all but one, I'd suggest Shambala and Capri.

  6. I'm keeping the used blades to do a line up photo to try to show the differences. I may end up stacking them and matching the spines to show the blade width differences. I may end up reloading them and taking the pictures if I can keep track of what picture is what. Dry erase marker on the side of the painstick might work and will clean off easy.
  7. Douglas, I really like the picture, your description of Route 66 Cavendish soap makes me want to order a jar!! Fantastic! Has your snow melted?
  8. We should all use Arko on one day, What do you guys think?
  9. I'm for it....just have to make sure I know in advance some so I can take it with me if I'm on the road. Sounds fun!

Paging Dr. @Bama Samurai lets do this!
  11. I was planning on doing an Arko day with a derby blade in a tech followed by the Veg. My plan was the last day of the month.

  13. I love this setup. Minus the derby blade, I don't have one. Excellent!!

  15. I'm getting the Veg in a pass-around here in a few days. I can use a little bit of it. Don't know if I'm chosen or not. I could take my travel Tech head and put it on a different handle. I think I have a Derby blade too.

Woke up this morning to whisker length that’s similar to what I normally see before my last pass of a daily shave. (Great shave yesterday!) So I decided to do a one pass, ATG shave, with buffing if necessary to attempt BBS.

Though I mention the BBS chase, my primary objective was to do an " @Bama Samurai " (with Laser-like Focus) assessment of my blade angle. I love the design of this razor and would commit it to my top ten if I can learn to use it as efficiently as possible.

So I borrowed the large makeup mirror of SWMBO, you know the type, with magnification that allows examination of each and every whisker. By doing so, I learned that the optimum angle was just a bit more acute than I thought (further away from flat on my face). It seems to be at the spot of the most audible feedback.

A bonus benefit of using the magnification mirror is that I got an even better view of my beard map, which was a bit different than I thought, and as you’d expect, in those areas that I refer to as my trouble spots. I also learned that I’m still not capable of doing ATG around my upper lip, corners of mouth, nor most of my chin. So this is where I do the most buffing. Perhaps a different blade may help with this razor? I plan to try 3 or 4 over the course of the month, including the potential of using a Twin blade.

In the end I achieved the BBS goal, but most importantly I learned a bunch about this razor and my beard. Try using a mag mirror from time to time - at least to check technique.

    Cheers!
