Thursday's TESC Pre-Shave Oil Speick Shave Cream Jayaruh #56 synthetic Gillette Goodwill LC (the maiden voyage) Personna Super CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Rose Petal WH Speick After Shave The Speick Shave Cream face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #56 synthetic brush. Just one pass and touch ups with the Gillette Goodwill LC razor with a Personna Super blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Speick After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... The Goodwill razor was exceptionally smooth and close shave. No nicks, cuts or abrasions. I love this razor.
Wednesday: hot shower w/Grandpa's Orange Essence bar soap Col Conk PSO Parker 94R 2+ passes Diplomat Platinum Plus (2) Barrister & Mann Orange & Cedarwood soap in a warm bowl EverReady boar Humphrey's Citrus WH Murray & Lanman Orange Blossom cologne No time to shave yesterday so I had a bit more stubble than usual today. Second shave with the Diplomat and this time in a more aggressive razor. The results were superior to Sunday's experience but still not good enough to make the top 10. Maybe I'll save the rest of the tuck to pass on to someone else to try sometime.
Tomorrow morning it'll feel like twenty below zero in my bathroom! For Thursday's Freezy Weezy Shave: Neutrogena Men Facial Wash Razorock Plissoft 26 mm Monster Junjie/Astra day 4 Stirling Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo SS Diana Menthol Balm Krampert's Frostbite AS Grey Flannel EdT I'm in love with my new Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo soap - man, does it ever lather beautifully, the scent is magnificent, and being a Glacial soap it's a bona-fide iceberg. The menthol effect that it gives is so intense that for anyone who is unable to handle this kind of cold, I regret to say that this soap is not for you. Its skincare however, is very soothing and gentle. The Diana balm is unscented, with a POWERFUL menthol effect as well, together with a lot of moisturizing. It's time for me to show Brian Krampert's Frostbite some love because it's another true face-freezer which has a terrific scent which never clashes with an eau de toilette! Ohhhhhhh, by the way - it's becoming very hard for me to keep away from my Plissoft Monster brush!
Just as long as it's not Pine Tar. I don't know how you can stand that stuff. I'm sure you're happy with it but I smelled it once and that was enough. I probably like Orange the best and then Sandalwood followed by Patchouli. One of these days I'm going to try his Witch Hazel bar soap.
The Pine Tar actually smelled weird to me out of the box but ounce it met water smells just like campfire to me. Right now I'm working through the Sandalwood, it's fantastic, I like it very much.
I'm going to have to try one of the Grandpa's soaps, I really enjoy the Dr Bronner's peppermint bar soap. I have sensitive skin and a lot of soaps bother me but I have no itching with this one
They are very impressive Ben. These are the only soaps were I've showered while still pretty clean and the amount of grime this stuff still washes off is amazing. I thought I was cleansing just fine till I tried Grandpa's.
He has a Shea Butter I haven't tried yet that's got Lavender and Vanilla. Usually shea butter is pretty moisturizing (no itch)
After a good, but not exceptional, shave with the F I brought it out again today. This time the blade was a new NOS Schick Platinum Plus. This is the one razor I have found that seems made for the Plat Plus. No drama, easy, and super close shave. Just like it should be.
