for me it's Modern: - Merkur Futur - Rockwell 6S - Merkur Progress 500 Vintage: - Gillette Rocket HD - Gillette Slim Adjustable - Gillette New LC
'41 Ranger Tech. Possibly the all around best Super Speed type razor. One of the best for sure. Red Tip. Everybody needs to try one at least once. Or twice. Gillette NEW, long or short. Efficient as all get out. If my neck could stand using it more often, I would. Rolls. All in one; for some, the only one they use.
Glad to see the Krona on this list. It doesn't get the attention it got a few years ago but it's a very good razor.
The more I think about it, the more I realize that it's almost impossible to come up with the three best razors. There are too many great ones to limit yourself. I guess that's why I have 30 of them!
I no particular order Vintage Gillette British Raised Flat Bottom NEW Gillette NEW Deluxe British Goodwill Importe D'Angleterre Modern R41 Fendrihan Stainless steel Dual Comb Wolfman (any) Glenn

In no particular order, Modern: Blackland Blackbird Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Double Open Comb Vintage: Gillette Sheraton Cooper MonoBilt (swing top) Bigelow and Parkins Travel Razor My favorite vintage razors all tend to be open combs at the moment. I don't have a preference for open comb over bar guard, it's just the way my favorite razors are going right now.
My Merkur Progress stands above more than a dozen safety razors I own. 1- A much bigger adjustable spectrum than the Gillettes. Especially on the aggressive. 2- Easy to find the angle, that works best. 3-Some don't like the plastic adjust knob and upgrade to a Mergress. I think it make it stand out. 4-Research it at the Shave Den, read reviews on Amazon.
Well, this is most interesting. I'll leave it a few days before I collate the results i.e. jot them down on a piece of paper. Already, there have been a lot of modern razors that I had not heard of. The Fendriham dual comb razor, listed by @Hobgoblin, being one. How strange, to have an open comb on one side of the razor and a closed comb on the other. Do you have an open comb shave one day, then a closed comb shave the next or do you combine the two, in one shave. The mind boggles.
Merkur 34C New Gillette Short Comb Gillette Slim Twist (yes, really!) Oh so hard to pick only 3 !!!!!!!
well mine are.. Toss up between the R41 and the Tech. I like them both for different reasons and my old trusty Merker 34C. * Muhle R41 2013 * Ikon Shave Craft Tech * Merkur 34C What the heck I added 1 more favorite * Merkur 37C Slant. (Edited) After today 4-9-16 and a few shaves this razor the Merkur 37C slant has become my #1 for my type of beard growth followed by the others. Four favorites is ok right...Lol Shave On All, Bill G
