Today's Bunny shave... Arko stick & chick blade as yesterday. Today we moved up to the "NOTSO" comb. Note to @twhite for V4... I was absolutely certain that I'd drop the comb screw down my drain. Thankfully, I didn't. But, could you consider a screw that can't be fully removed from the combs for V4?

Onto the shave ... an improvement over yesterday... I"d rate it a "FINE" (as opposed to Damn Fine). Still some rough spots in my trouble areas and now some irritation on my neck, no doubt due to my technique and blade angle. But, down strokes on my neck were not overly comfortable. Again, probably my technique. The blade angle (for me) is difficult to maintain on the neck. Practice makes perfect tho. And maybe I need to choke up on my grip for that part of the shave.

I think I'll stick with the NOTSO for tomorrow and try to dial in my neck better.

One other thing... Edmund finally woke up and deigned to join us. Kids! In any case, he really wanted to shave with it badly, but I had to remind him that he has feathers. And since he was an oaf yesterday, I told him he could look but not touch.

You mean that's all I have to do to keep it.

I'm sure he forgot to mention that you have to use either the "WILD" comb or no comb at all (Euro style).

Day 3 with the bunny: "NOTSO" comb, chick blade (3), WARS shave cream

It's getting better... I still need to work the blade angle, I think. But, it's getting there. My neck was much better... only 1 very small nick and much less irritation.

I'll keep the same basic set up for tomorrow except that I may change to a Pella blade.

Day 4 with the bunny: "NOTSO" comb, Pella blade (1), WARS SC

I'm now in agreement with @Jayaruh that the Pella blades are a better choice for the bunny than the chicks. Which, is totally opposite of my recommendation for a traditional injector. Blade change went smoothly with reduced fiddling to line up the blade.

The shave continues to improve... I did a 3 pass with touch ups. The jawline and neck remain a problem, but a problem that is diminishing. I paid more attention to the blade angle and while my neck had some irritation, there were no nicks or weepers this time. Some of the irritation may also be due to the touch ups rather than the blade angle.

I'm debating trying the "WILD" comb tomorrow. And maybe Saturday, Euro style.

One other thing... I've "invented" a new grip which I found helpful for the bunny. It wasn't intentional, I swear. lol. But, here's how I found my grip just automatically happening: Pointer finger straight along the handle with the tip of my finger on the head or just below it on the neck. Other fingers wrapped loosely around the handle. Butt of the handle resting against my palm. Seems to work.

Evening addendum to day 4: I changed the comb for tomorrow's shave to "WILD" and now have noticed the collection of gunk under the comb (whiskers and soap scum) which didn't get cleared out by simply rinsing the razor. Not a big deal if you change the comb frequently, but a possible stumbling block for the final end user who may just pick a comb and stick with it. Due to the proximity of the blade, I cleaned it under running water using an old toothbrush and it cleaned out easily enough (after removing the comb). And yes, if you must know, I figured this out AFTER cutting the tip of my index finger. I didn't even notice it until blood started dripping... I guess those blades are kinda sharp.

Day 5: aka Takin' a walk on the WILD side. WILD comb, Pella (2), WARS SC w/ an Tend Skin Air Shave Gel undercoat (superior slickness).

I'm just going to cut to the chase... WILD w/ Pella is the set up for me! (pending Euro style trial). A regular 3-pass shave with a few touch ups. I did not end up BBS with the jawline issues continuing, but that's par for the course for me. I'd say that today's smoothness was plenty acceptable and at least equal to what I normally expect/accept as a good (for me) shave. I ended up with one fairly significant nick on my adam's apple, but I saw it coming because I was getting cocky.

As a side note, my usual throat technique is to "bull frog" around the adam's apple and then to stretch when shaving the rest of my neck. With the bunny, I found a light stretch around the adam's apple to be more useful and less of a stretch for the rest of the neck. Go figure.

Yep! WILD plus Pella blade was the winner for me, too.

Day 6: No Shave Wednesday. I'm gonna make the bunny work its tail off tomorrow morning instead.

It seems to work even better on a two day growth. Enjoy NSW.
