Yup, Jeeves Soaps are very good ... I wonder why they aren't more popular. And the "Eukalyptus & Spearmint" is my favorite scent of all the soaps in my Den ... though some Route 66 soaps (Cavendish and Ghost Town) give it a run for the money.
Both Route 66 and Jeeves Soaps are excellent. I have more Route 66 soaps, or should I say all of the Route 66 soaps. I'll have to try a few more Jeeves soaps.
Straights Focus April 10: Stirling Synthetic Brush Arko Ralf Aust 5/8 Stirling Unscented PSB The Veg My maiden voyage with Arko, and it didn't disappoint. I kind of like the scent, and the performance is great. I will be adding several sticks to my collection after I work through some of my soap stock. A big thanks to Chris, @Bama Samurai, for sending me a stick to try out. I going to attempt to head to the gym before work tomorrow, and I want to check out the shower facilities before I shave there. So, I went for a BBS thus morning as I should not need to shave. I did two passes with a little clean up/chasing, and I found it. I had a slight cut on my chin from the other day, and I opened it up again. With the cut and chasing, I had a little feed back from the alum, but not too bad. I figured if I was using Arko this morning, I might as well go for the gold and use some Veg. It is a perfect start to my Sunday. I hope you all have a great day.

I went with a traditional 3 pass shave and enjoyed this smooth and efficient razor. The shave ended in a near BBS with no nicks, weepers or irritation. Finished off with a splash of F&C Capri. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
Intro to straight razor shaving (Day 10 of 120 Days). Gold Dollar 208 Omega 81052 Boar Cella Maggard Alum Block Fine American Blend And a guest appearance by a long list of profanity. All was going great this morning while I was shaving until I started my 3rd pass. For those of you who don't know I have 3 kids so I get up very early to shave and do what I need to do to start the day because as soon as 05:30 hits I am overrun by a rambunctious 4 year old and a 2 year old who only gets enjoyment by getting into stuff he is not suppose to and tormenting his sister. I start to face lather for my 3rd pass and then I hear it...the pitter patter of tiny feet followed by SWMBO...Oh come on its 04:46 what is everyone doing up this is me time! Fair enough I clean my face off and let the potty train do what they need to do. While everyone is doing that I make them a quick breakfast so they can eat while I finish my shave. They sit down and I head back into the bathroom. Work my lather up again and apply to the face. Mind you my 3rd pass is always ATG so I am sure by now you see where this is going. I start the first stroke on my cheeks and here's where things start getting bloody. 2-3 strokes on my right cheek and BOOM!!!!!! out of no where my son decides to run head first into the bathroom door making me jump and of course cut the ever living heck out of my cheek. SWMBO picks up and brings him back over to his chair and apologizes saying he outran her and B-lined it to the bathroom. Ok....1 cut... it's going to happen... nothing a little styptic cant help. Start working my jawline and I hear my daughter run over to the door. "Daddy?" "Yes sweetheart?" "Mommy said your bleeding...are you dead yet?" "No I am not dead...go finish your breakfast I will be out soon." Slice!!! Trying to talk and shave zoned out and got a nice cut on the jawline. This is not going good. Finally get 2-3 minutes where everything is silent so I start my ATG pass on my neck and this....this is where everything went to crap. As soon as I get to the Adams Apple my Wife flies into the bathroom to get a towel as my Son decided it would be funny to try to juggle his bowl of cereal. In the midst of her flying in when the door opened it clipped me right in the back as I had the 208 up to my neck. There's not really much to say about what happened as soon as that happened as this is a family friendly forum. All I can say is if my Mother was there I would be chewing on a bar of soap right now. I finished with a cold water rinse, Alum, a shriek, cold water rinse, Styptic, another shriek, Fine American Blend AS, and a very girly scream.

SOTD April 10, 2016 Prep: Warm shower Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick G1 injector Brush: Maple handle badger Lather: TSD Tabac-like shaving soap Post: Witch hazel splash, Pinaud Lilac Vegetal, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, XTG, touch-up Very smooth shave with the Schick G1 injector. This razor has done quite well for me when I've used it the past couple of months. It needs light, light pressure and good concentration or it can bite you. I went with two passes and touch-up and ended up with a really nice shave. Two tiny nicks that were taken care of with cold water and witch hazel. Thanks to @DaltonGang I was able to try THE VEG for this first time today. It came as part of a pass-around in the Freebies thread. The best part?? I think I may have been chosen! I put on a pretty liberal amount (for me) after the witch hazel had dried down. It stung quite a bit but cooled off quickly. I let it dry and then followed with Nivea sensitive balm just like normal. Not too long after my wife and son and I went to lunch. We ate, ran an errand, and then returned home. In that whole trip my wife made no comment about the smell, good or bad. So I asked once we returned "Okay, so how does my after shave smell?" She took a close whiff and said enthusiastically "That smells pretty good." I told her it was the Veg and she seemed to be pleased that it worked out. I would say that's a chosen scenario! I'll use the Veg once more before passing it on. Look for the pass-around in the Freebies section if you'd like to try it. I hope your weekend has been fruitful. Have a great day everyone!
Going in I thought I would hate it. I had visions of having to hop back in the shower and wash my face to get rid of the smell. But it seems to be okay on my skin. I put a large amount (for me) on and it has turned out to be fine. Now I just need my own bottle as I have to send this pass-around bottle on to the next person.
Catching up with photos from my Friday and Saturday shaves. I used the Gillette Platinum blade with these two shaves as part of my Russian blade focus. This blade seems to be readily available at drug stores. It's in dark or black packaging and comes in packs of 3 blades. It felt really smooth. I enjoyed it. So, for you pictures lovers! This mornings shave was very nice. CJB Feather Pro(2) WD synthetic Route66 Sweeny Todd Homemade Mentholated Lemongrass Witch Hazel Axe Sheild ASB I am saddened by the dwindling amount of Route 66 I have left. I might have 1 or 2 shaves left of the Sweeny Todd then I'll be using up the Ghost Town sample. I promised myself I would clear out my samples some before I got anymore soaps so I will just have to do without for a bit until I use them all up. The lather was great but the little ring of soap made a longer load time necessary. I had enough for 2 and a half passes but more might have been too much. First pass with the painstick was so easy I had to check to make sure there was a blade in. It mowed down my 2 day growth effortlessly. I had 2 weepers in spot I expected, the edge of a scar and a pimple. After the relather I did a S/N and made it to a DFS. I relathered my neck and changed the angle to be almost ATG and cleaned up a bit for a near BBS. If I had touched up above the lips and a bit at the tip of my chin I would have had it but I didn't want to push my luck. I decided to use the poor neglected WH and Axe Shield. I love the smell of the Axe Shield but it is a bit thick and doesn't soak in very well. Its a great coconut smell but I won't be replacing it when I run out. The WH was frosty. I was very heavy handed when I mixed this up. Tomorrow I'll give the Route 66 and synthetic brush a break and get out my Arko and big brushes for a few days.
SOTD April 10, 2016 MDC Fougere WDC-8 Envy White BBS-1 with UFO Titan Fine L Polsilver Super Iridium #2 Witch Hazel, Whipped Shea Butter, Folsom & Co. Capri Maiden voyage of BBS-1, purchased from fellow 30-DayCrew member@Keithmax . Thank you for for sending it to Tucson. Very smooth, close and efficient two pass shave with near BBS results. That's what I'm talking about! Rode the cap for only a second, as the angle was easy to find. The auditory feedback was outstanding. I could swear the razor was singing. This razor handled the trouble spots, ie butt chin, nicely. Paired with the light weight handle the razor was perfectly balanced and easy to maneuver. The WDC-8 brush was a joy to use, with the perfect weight and knot for maximum lather generation. Kudos to member @Douglas Carey who makes these beautiful brass brushes. Finished with some whipped shea butter and a generous splash of Folsom & Co. Capri. I have a super close, my wife will be thrilled shave today. Have a blessed Sunday my friends.

I feel your pain. I have a girl(10) and 4 boys( 7,6,4,2). 2 of the boys are stuck with my exwife but I'm hoping I can change that soonish. I've had them bang and hit me with the door and everything else. I only shave late at night after bedtime or early in the morning before they think about getting up.
