Schick M1 Adjustable razor Personna 74 blade (day 1) Plisson/L'Occitane brush CO Bigelow SC Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe Skin Bracer A/S w/added menthol Day 1 with the legendary Personna 74 and a very nice shave indeed. So smooth, comfortable and SHARP! Didn't realize how sharp till I got myself due to carelessness on my part. I'm going to use this razor/blade combo till it just doesn't work anymore and see how many good shaves I can get. Rumor has it that these blades are extremely long lasting and I intend to find out. MENTHOL MONDAY 'Wostenholm Week' for me continues with a restored George Wostenholm & Son's IXL 5/8 frame back with new translucent blonde horn scales. I touched up a week's worth of Wosty razors on a blue Escher water hone and will be testing one each day. This morning's FB shave was quite smooth, silent and efficient. Mitchell's Wool Fat slick lather, menthol-enhanced with TSD's M-Bomb, and Stirling 'Sharp-Dressed Man' aftershave.
A very good shave this morning. First time using the Red Tip and it was quite enjoyable! The Sputnik performed well for me again today and in two passes I was near BBS. I did a little touch up and got even closer but there is still one pesky spot on my neck that I must have had a difficult time maintaining the angle on because it is not quite as smooth as everywhere else. So I guess ill call it a DFS+. The La Toja (grated and pressed into my bowl) made an abundance of cushiony slick lather in my Plissoft and aided in providing me with an irritation free shave. Hello TSD Not enough time for a straight razor shave this morning, so I brought the R41 back into use: - Jeeves of Hudson Street "Turkish Bath" - Whipped Dog Synthetic - Mühle R41/iKon Bulldog Handle - Astra Superior Platinum - Tüff sensitiv Rasierwasser First time I used the ASP in the R41 head. Absolutely fantastic combination Super smooth, super effficient. Two passes (WTG and ATG) without any tugging or even the slightest bit of discomfort. No touchups necessary - BBS result. This was pretty close to my best shaves with the Futur ... I honestly did not expect that, since all my previous shaves with the R41 had been a little rough ATG. So obviously when it comes to blades this razor is pretty picky. Have a great day everyone
In honor of Menthol Monday, I added 5-6 drops of M-Bomb to my bowl of Lumberjack lather. Talk about a nice refreshing cool, without taking away from the scent. 3 passes with the Friodur, and I'm smooth as can be. Here is an extra shot for my fellow lather junkies...
