when I was in Utah last spring(for a week), one of the volunteers at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary(thed feature of the trip)brought a pitbull to sit wit hthe luncheon crowd one day. I came up to pet it, and it was like petting a kitten. Amazing work Best Friends does to rehabilitate dogs who had been in those terrible "dogfighting rings".

She is very protective around my kids as well. When I bring my kids down to see my Mom if other people are there I have to tell Xena (the dog) its ok for people to go near my kids. Way back in the day Pits where called Nanny dogs as they are great with kids.
Agree! Very protective but also great at following orders. Ounce you tell them someone is cool...they understand and it's play time.
