The single ring is a really nice shave. I like it much better than the later old types. You will enjoy it.
I got these yesterday, so I haven't shaved with them yet. All cleaned up, and boy were they filthy! Here are the seller's photos: Not bad for $20, though the one razor I was hoping was minty, the G-Bar, was the one razor with plate loss. The Flying Wing (bullet tip) Micromatic was the best razor of the lot. The Super Speed has flea bites on the top cap. Not my best haul, not even a good haul, by my standards.
My approach has been a little different. I tried a large variety at the beginning. Then as I progressed (DE/SE/Injector)....when I found the best shave for me the others were retired. DE: Wolfman WR1 SB SE: 1924 Injector: a bit of a toss up: G, Injectomatic, PAL Adjustable - E2 waiting in the wings. So I suppose in answer to the question: E2 still pending
Ok. How do you get them so clean up? I have autosol and tried to polish them. But the cloth that I use to polish them immediately turned black. I was so afraid that I removed the plating. So I immediately stopped.
I sprayed them with scrubbing bubbles (a bathroom cleaner...Cif is used in the U.K.), waited for the foam to dissolve, a matter of a minute or two. Rinsed them off, put a squirt of liquid hand soap on them and lightly scrubbed them with a natural bristle toothbrush. Rinsed them off again and dried them. That's all that is needed to restore 99% of razors to their original finish. Edit: Astonish bathroom cleaner in a trigger bottle is the only thing I see available for Indonesia. You probably have other options. Avoid products with bleach and/or Ammonia! Bleach will tarnish any exposed brass and can cause pitting. Ammonia will cause brass to crack. We like to think of plating as a solid coating, but in reality, it's very thin and quite porous. If you use ammonia or bleach on your razors, the plating may look fine, while the metal underneath the plating degrades, unnoticed, until the plating starts to come off of the razor.
