More so than many are willing to admit, but to counter with another saying, there are exceptions to every rule.
I was wondering about that. Is there maybe a different method to using these? It could prove painful figuring that out though.
No. Method may have to change slightly when using different razors due to head geometry, blade gap, head weight, overall weight, center of gravity (because of handle length), but should never have to change just because you put a different blade in the razor. A bad blade is a bad blade.
+1. I would start with blade gap. Use an adjustable razor and start at #2,then work your way up. I've done this with some less than desirable blades, and it smooths them out, but this usually results in too mild of a shave for me. In the end, I usually just stick them in my wife's razor.
Some gear is absolute crap in my opinion. I have found that a major breakthrough for me was learning the way my beard grows. Which direction the hair is growing on certain parts of my face and neck and then shave those parts accordingly. Once you have this down, you can shave with almost any blade........ almost Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
100 Rapira Super Stainless. The pink/blue/white pack. Tried it this month and found out it's a great blade. Voskhod like in its abilities. That's enough for me to add it to the stash.
100 Astra SP's arrived yesterday. This acquisition things seems to be getting out of hand. I have to live to 106 years old to use them all at one blade per week. I think I'll eat some vitamins.

Simple, Gillette Silver Blue because after trying many different blades, these are the best for me. I like them over the others so much, I would have gladly paid twice what I did on Amazon
Don't you have some obsidion blades coming too. I am curious about how they shave. That graphite color is something never see on a blade.
My last and so far only big buy was Big Bens. For fun I swap around different blades all the time but BB is one of the few that never disappoints me. When they're gone I might consider Astra, possibly another Lord, maybe Rapira. Or BB.
