    Evening shave for tomorrow...
Wostenholm Week Wrap: Day 9— After nine consecutive days of shaving with a vintage Wostenholm & Son razor, I'd thought I would wrap up 'Wosty week' with two wedges. The first, a 5/8 hollow-notch wedge, (circa 1900-1914) has the blade engraving with the following, "The Americans Give The Right Hand of Fellowship to All Nations and Own an Universal Brotherhood" with a charming icon of a handshake in the center. The other is an older, larger true wedge (nearly 6/8) from the Washington Works, (from the late 1800s). Some funky hone wear on the spine made it more of a challenge to hone. Both razors held very keen edges off a natural finisher. The smaller one is a bit more nimble but both are quality silent shavers. Mitchells Wool Fat lather & Fine 'Snake bite' finish.' Moving on to Japanese-made razors next…:D

Another wonderful shave tonight, 3 passes and I'm BBS. It's like the R41 and the GSB were made for each other, great combo. I really like this soap and now I'm officially addicted to menthol. My new spray bottles worked great, I really like Aqua Velva and Thayers and grapefruit EO are excellent together. Have a great day folks!

Good morning friends. Everything came together this morning for a superb shave. I decided to revisit the Astra SP in my R41 today and they worked liked a champ. I was reminded today why Route 66 Lumberjack :love029:is my favorite soap in my den. I have a few respectable soaps and creams now and i can say with certainty that nothing compares, it blows them all outta the water! I highly encourage my friends here to give the Lumberjack or any Route 66 soap a try. If you want the best it's right here at your door step. Dolphin smooth, dapper and happy! Have a wonderful shave and a wonderful day guys. :happy005:

  16. Superb Van Yulay Shave for Jared
This is for Jared, even though I don't have any products in that tribute scent. I began with VY PSO, lathering Poseidon right over that in thick yogurty slickness. The Futur glided along three drama free passes on its way to deliver a BBS. I finished up with Shuyak Island for the great skincare, scent and menthol cool.
    Prep: VY PSO
    Soap: VY Poseidon
    Brush: HIS
    Razor: Futur 5-5-5
    Blade: Voskhod
    AS: VY Shuyak Island

  17. It's a fluke that I didn't cut my face to pieces because I shaved so fast. I have some errands to do today and I wasn't able to enjoy a good, proper shave so it was just a one pass WTG job. The Polar Vortex soap's icy-cold lather and the Rubby Dubby Doo felt great, though.

Wonderful shave this morning. I have been doing some experimenting with my brush and lather. First, I am spending more time loading my brush. I used to load for about 5 seconds but now I am loading for 30 seconds. I am also working the lather on my face for a longer period of time. I used to face lather for about 30 seconds...and now I am lathering for about 2 minutes. This new approach is producing a thicker, richer lather and I am able to get the water content just perfect...and it is making a difference. Enjoy your day gentlemen and ladies.

  19. I don't find it has a strong scent like some of the other Route 66 shave soaps. I don't believe it is a new offering. That is probably because this old nose doesn't work as well as it used to work. :happy097:. Ghost Town has a warm base of spiced woods with subtle hints of leather and powdery vanilla. Accented beautifully with a heart of floral ylang and soft lavender, all brightened with sparkling citrus top notes.
