I tell you over and over what really works. And what definitely doesn't. But do you listen?! Nooooooooooo. You have to do your OWN thing with those injector doohickeys. Stubborn!
Sorry to jump on the bandwagon so late, but unfortunately think I'm going to do a 30 day rule with my pal adjustable and MITA soap, and all ice water shaves. Maybe I'll be able to finally get it down Sent from my ASUS ZenFone 2E using Tapatalk
04/20/2016 AlumiGoose with Triad SS Feather Pro (4) Simpson CH2 Synthetic Mystic Water Lavender Witch Hazel Myrsol F/ Extra Whipped Shea Butter The shave this morning was fantastic. It was one of those days where everything just clicks and all the products meet or exceed expectations. The MW Lavender lathered easily and the soothing scent set the stage for the shave. I altered the 2 pass shave to go ATG followed by XTG and with some minor touch ups I caught the baby. That's an unusual 2 work days in a row. Finished with a splash of Myrsol F/Extra. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
I don't know if I'm quite ready for the frozen tundra feeling but 4 drops of M-Bomb in the soap was perfect. Cold but yet I could still feel the blade and my eyes didn't water

SOTD April 20, 2016 Russian blades focus Prep: Warm shower Blade: Astra Superior Platinum (3) Razor: Maggard MR1 handle with V2 open comb Brush: Vulfix 2006C badger Lather: Soap Commander Endurance Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Old Spice knock-off, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up Nice shave this morning. The lather from the Soap Commander was terrific. That lead to one pass with touch-up around the jaw line and neck. I'm feeling pretty smooth so far. The Vulfix badger behaved better today after combing through it some and getting rid of the excess hairs. It still shed a little bit but not as bad as the other day. I'm using the Endurance soap sample until it is used up. This is the sixth shave with that sample. Hope you all have a great day!
"unfortunately"??!! That's a fine razor to have and if you're looking to improve technique there's nothing unfortunate about that. Just one way to go - up! And there's a bunch of guys around here with great advice along the way. I'll start. I've used a PAL Adjustable just a few times before and love it! I hope to spend a month with it soon. I see you started a Thread on the PAL Adjustable already and got a bunch of advice. Just a quick general tip - I take any questions on injectors to the "Injector & SE Party" thread. Those guys are masters at the SE/Injector trade and full of advice. @Billyfergie is one of the resident Masters. His advice to you to use no pressure with this razor worked wonders for me. I recommend a "Chick" blade (Schick blade made in China). It's one of the few injector blades being currently manufactured. Regarding blade angle, I can't remember where on this Forum I found this but, I stumbled on a nice little primer on blade angle for this specific razor: Last for now...I noticed on your PAL Adjustable thread that you are getting nicks and weepers on your upper lip/chin/mouth corners. I started out using the middle setting for all my shaves with no ATG on those problem areas until I got used to the razor. Sorry for the lengthy post, but that razor has a ton of fans, no reason why you can't become one of them. Cheers, RT
April 20, 2016 A month with my Schick Type F Hot Shower Razor: Schick F Blade: Feather AC Pro (1) Soap: Saponificio Varesino - Manna Brush: Rubberset 400-4 TSD Witch Hazel AS: Saponificio Varesino - Manna 36-hour growth, Two-pass shave - XTG, ATG After my brief interlude to have an initial shave with two new acquisitions (Schick Adjustable, Personna Floating Head), I’m back to finish off my month-long focus on the F. I’ve had nothing but fine shaves so far with three different blades: Chinese Schick - good Schick Plus Platinum - better Dutch Schick - best With such good results I was tempted to end the blade comparison. But I then remembered a nifty Injector-Jedi trick from Master @Billyfergie - cut down the length of a Feather AC blade to fit an injector. I’ve used this blade in a Mongoose before so I knew what to expect - sharp, sharp, sharp. Loading wasn’t a breeze, but after one razor stroke I actually looked to see if the blade had slid into the back of the blade spring because I couldn’t feel anything. Then I looked closely at my face and saw significant reduction. The experience repeated on every stroke of every pass - including the trouble spots - a first for me! I was able to shave in any direction on my chin, mouth corners and even a sliver of my upper lip where I trim the mustache! Phenomenal! All that’s left, is to see how long the shave lasts and to repeat the process for 3-4 more shaves. If so, this blade will leap to the front of the line for 1st choice in this razor. Cheers! RT
Neal, you have really piqued my interest in the voskhod blades but I can't seem to find a supplier in Europe. Could you please divulge a source? Thanks in advance. Nathan
For the right price anything is possible. I actually buy mine from a couple of eBay sellers in Russia. Gordelux is the most recent. She is reliable and usually has the right price. There are a couple of others around too. They seem to trade off on who has inventory. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

Shave #8 An absolutely horrendous shave today. Completely terrible. But, I guess the reason isn't really applicable here - I had to work two days in a row! Tomorrow will be three in a row . What has happened to my nifty 24-hour shift work? ARGH, next Thursday can't come soon enough... Seriously, I feel like I owe you 8-5'ers an apology... Oh well - the actual shave was good today. I did give in and bloom the soap - seems to make a difference to me...with having to actually work more than 1 day in a row, I didn't have it in me to not bloom it. I'll get back to the lathering dedication after my trip - until then...
