Thank you. Got it in a trade with another member. My early impression is it will be a good shaver.

Back to the Cobra for the next several work day shaves. Another great drama free near BBS shave this morning. The Cobra Classic and AlumiGoose V1 are very similar but the Cobra is a little more aggressive and efficient. Finished off with a splash of Fine L'Orange. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Yeah, Chris I've gone through many different razors and I know pretty much right away if it's for me. It's in its box I'll pull it out maybe another time and try it out.
Speaking of new razors! Two gents are coming out with a SE called the General, I got on the waiting list. Retail should be around $80-90. Release will be sometime this summer.

Fantastic shave! ER 100T whipped up Mystic Water Jeff's Lavender into a fluffy pile of love. The Mongoose is the real deal. I really get super 3-pass shaves from it.

I have been following that razor. It does look really cool and at that price should be a big hit.

I like it as well. I watched the TSE video on it and the razor does look very cool. The price point is fantastic. That's 3 new Artist Club SE razors coming to market in the next few months. The General, new ATT SE, and one from Bullgoose.

Hello TSD - a little late today ... my thursday shave:

    eins.jpeg

    - Arko
    - Mühle STF
    - Gold Dollar 208
    - Tüff sensitiv Rasierwasser

First time I used the Arko soap. Though I must admit it is absolutely foolproof in terms of ease of use and I can't say anything negative about the quality of lather, I still don't like it. What really bothers me is the scent ... it's just not pleasant. And shaving is all about pleasure, right?

On the other hand this has been the best straight shave I've had so far. Two and a half passes, first WTG, second XTG and after that ATG on the cheeks. I think I did a slightly better skin stretching job on my right cheek - BBS there. On the left it's something between DFS+ and BBS.

Still not sure which kind of blade I prefer ... full hollow or wedge? I like the sound of the hollow grind, but my smaller wedge seems to be a little easier to maneuver.

Have a great day, folks :happy088:

    Two-pass shave - XTG, ATG

After shaving with this combo for the first time yesterday, I woke up this morning with 24-hour whisker growth that was about the same length of what is normally left on my face prior to my last pass of a three or two-pass shave.

Today’s shave was just as fine. For a blade as sharp as this one, I’m constantly wary of nicks and cuts due to operator error. But the angle on the F is apparently very forgiving (I’m not perfect with every stroke). This razor/blade combo is the best I’ve experienced in regard to both comfort and sharpness on every stroke. No nicks, cuts, not even a weeper and I have no irritation at all! Remarkable.

    Cheers!

    Maggard Alum Block
    The Veg

What a horrible shave today. Everything start off going perfect and then I started thinking and ended up hurting myself. My JR #23 whipped The Fat up into a perfect lather and I proceeded to face lather. Stretch the skin and start my first pass and I get to thinking about what I am doing (Straight Razor Shaving) and how I feel about using the STR8. As I start pondering if I like it much more then a DE and thinking if I want to stick to just STR8's full time. I came to the conclusion whilst shaving that I love shaving with a Straight although there are a few things I don't like. I hate stropping. I don't like how much longer shaving takes compared to my DE. Don't get me wrong I love my long relaxing shaves but when you have 2 kids knocking on the door and a grumpy SWMBO asking you if you are done with your makeup as other people need to get in there you start to feel rushed. I decided that while I will stick with a STR8 I also miss my DE's. I think after the end of the month I may retire my Str8's and only use them on my days off and the weekends when I have more free time. This is when things got ugly. The GD 208 had been reading my mind the entire time and she was angry and hurt. As soon as the thought of retiring her she decided to show me how Hell hath no fury like a straight razor scorned . Just as I moved down onto my neck she decided she wanted to bite me a good 2-3 times just in 1 stroke. I quickly apologized to her and finished up my WTG pass and moved onto my XTG pass while determining if 911 would need to be called. I started my XTG pass and decided after this pass I will call it quits as I don't want to bleed anymore. XTG on the upper lip and I sliced my lip and nose...wonderful... finished up and started doing my usual bad shave post routine which consists of cold water rinse, alum, a styptic pen, and tears. The alum burned pretty good and the styptic made me yelp so loud I am pretty sure I could do a wonderful cover of Whitney Houston's "I will always love you" and hit all the high notes. Finally got the bleeding to stop did another quick water rinse and slapped on an unhealthy amount of the Veg. Well I am safe now I thought to my self now just time to clean the scales and give it a quick strop. I cleaned the scales and razor and began stropping. As soon as I finished stropping I started to close the razor up but she was still out for blood as she caught my pinky and got me pretty good. I dropped it and no harm done but I am scared to see what she has in store for payback next time I break her out.

Long story short with all kidding aside:

I zoned out while thinking and my technique got sloppy and paid for it in blood.
