How's your day? April 2016

May you be safe & shoot well!

 

I don't mind mowing. We have a fairly large corner lot....takes about an hour on the riding mower. Just can do without the trimming.

 

Just loaded the smoker with some chicken leg quarters for dinner. A beautiful 72 degree, sunny day in West TN. Hope everyone is enjoying theirs as well.

 

It's is raining so hard, I'm afraid the streets are going to flood. I'm getting my emergency kit prepared for a power outage.

 

I recently made the switch to a reel mower. It's a "reel" workout, but it's the most satisfying lawn work I've ever done. And I hate lawn work.

 

I have a neighbor that bought one of those a few years ago. I was shocked at how nice they do cut.

Day 5 trying to teach myself Dutch on duolingo.com. I'm up to level 4 and enjoying it. The spelling is probably my biggest hurdle at the moment, well, and hearing the spoken Dutch clearly. Many of the sounds still seem very (too?) similar.

I wasn't going to mention this here, but since Mike is being so encouraging, one of my practice sentences to translate was:

Ik ben een banaan.

(I am a banana).

I am so not kidding.

We had a blast, that picture was the before shot, here is the after

They have you run through 7 foot high walls of bubbles that are all different colors. They had a bubble pit every kilometer and at the end your shirt was all different colors

 

We did, she wants to sign up for next year already

 

You guys did have fun, you look super happy in the after pic!

 

Good luck with it, I lived in Flemish Belgium for a couple of years and only managed to understand a little, but then I was in my 20's and was more interested in beer and women. Come to think of it, I still am.

 

Well, at the time that's all you needed. Plus, maybe, "where's the men's room."

Anyhow, thanks for the good luck.

 

It's the WC, I learned that much. I ran across Belgians who's English (and particularly grammar) were much better than mine.

 

Beautiful weather today. I roasted another pound of coffee in the Whirley-Pop. I go thru about a pound a week, so this will be able to rest about a week before I start using it.
