Thanks! I'll probably use them closer to 4-5 times. I had some carbon blades that shaved fine but I didn't want to HAVE to remember to take them out before rusting. The stainless will be better for me I hope.
Today's Shave Wilkinson Empire Model Wilkinson Sword Hollow Ground wedge blade (2) Stirling 22mm synthetic brush Chiseled Face Groomatorium Sherlock soap & aftershave Couldn't resist another shave with the Wilkinson. Dialed the adjustment back a bit (it's now right in the center of the range) and enjoyed a great shave - not quite BBS, but incredibly smooth and irritation free. --Bob

Three Pass Shaving Routine.. Hot Water prep & massage with Coconut Oil Ever Ready Lather Catcher Invisible Edge Stropping Blade NOS Fichard Pure Badger Haslinger Tallow soap Thayers Original Witch Hazel I just had the most Wonderful Shave of my Life with My Ever Ready Lather Catcher with an Invisible Edge Stropping Blade Today..A Dolphin Smooth All Over BBS Result..This thing just Mowed down the Whiskers like a Darn Snow Plough..One of these Stropping blades in the Ever Ready Catcher Transforms it into One Almighty Aggressive Smooth, Comfortable & Forgiving Shaver.. Its like putting a Twin Blade in a Schick Injector..Its Twice the Razor..Because of the age of the blade I gave it 10 Sets on 0.5 Micron Lapping Film just to Refresh the Edge & 20 Sets on the Nylon side the Strop & then another 20 Sets on the Leather..Awesome Sharp but very Comfortable & Forgiving..This Combo makes a Noise like Rolling Thunder..Current Gem Blades are Mediocre by Comparison..These Stropping blades are more Rigid than Gem Blades & Totally Change the Characteristic's of the Razor..Current Blades are a Step Backwards in Performance for Sure.. You are only Tapping into Shaving 1/2 the Potential of this Razor with a Current Gem Blade...The Ever Ready Lather Catcher is One Almighty Shaver when its used the Traditional Way as it was Intended..You are only Sniffing the Full Potential of this SE using a Current Gem Blade.. Billy..
The H type Men's Travel Razor....(sic)....Has been seriously kicking razor and whisker @$$, a a series of shave-offs at my shave-cave.... But today, we kind of stretched the apples to apples thing and pitted the H-type Badd-@$$ Hussy against the ER 1924 with the flat combs...Well, what can I say....The Shovelhead is another kind of thing....It was kind of close... The 1924 did in 2 passes with NO irritation what the Hussy did in 4 passes, touch-up with a little Clubman sting! Yeah, I still haven't found anything that can touch the ER 1924....even the OCMM folded....
I'm very happy you're enjoying them. I love them myself and believe them to be a great value for what you receive.
Tonights shave with the F and a Feather AC blade. Sorry no pictures tonight. Been very busy today and tonight. On to the shave. WOW is my first thought. I had 2 full days growth. I chose to use some Haslinger Sandalwood and my JR 57 brush. I lathered up and started my first pass. I was not sure I was cutting anything. That all changed when I rinsed my razor. The lather was loaded with hair. Very happy little boy. The first pass reduction was up with the best of them. Second pass same results the first. It was not quite good enough to stop there. As I always do 3 passes. Third pass gave me a DFS to BBS shave. I love the Feather in this razor. Happy weekend, and see some of you tomorrow at Big West Shave. Tom
Sounds sooo similar to my last 3 shaves with that same combo Tom! The F-Squared combo is a strong contender for my best injector combo so far... though I've only just started with my year-long research. So many razors....
I would have to agree. It blew me away how well it shaves. It is up there in smoothness with my PAL Injecto-Matic. It will for sure be a razor I will use a lot. It its also the coolest looking one I have. Tom
Lets see.... ER Lather Catcher with Stropping Blade....C type Schick Automatic with Feather Blade....Schick F types with Feather Blades....and an H type on deck! Looks like the Exotics are out this weekend.....OK guys....whats the baddest? The F or the D type.?..the Repeaters or F's with a Feather or Twin? We have Testing possibilities of Historic Proportions going on here.... But everyone stills has to keep kind of a low profile or @Billyfergie might pull out that E1 and find an obsidian blade for that bad boy......could end shaving as we know it....
Uh Ohh.....I think I'm feeling the first tinge of a new case of LCAD (Lather Catcher AD)......Yep!....I am feeling a Bad Case of LCAD coming on doggone it!!
..This is a Very Aggressive Shaver the Ever Ready Job..The Gem Junior Bar is far Milder..In Fact this little Bad Boy is far more Aggressive than a Kampf Lather Catcher with a Hollow Ground Blade..These Stropping blades are Awesome when properly Sharpened..If there is any sign of Tugging with these Blades they are Not Shave Ready..Its as Simple as that..This thing is as Manoeuvrable & as Smooth as an Injector.. Billy..
