Finally got my No. 58 Aristocrat Junior from Sophia, Bulgaria today! Opened a new old stock pack of blue blades in the dispenser to celebrate! (and because the box that held them wasn't designed to fit in the case).
A cheesy, cheap scuttle. I don't even like football, but it was only a buck & a half. I did pick up a nice '50s glass lemonade pitcher for my gal, though.
I got it mainly as an ornament...it's got a very shallow bowl with one 1/2" hole in the center...I don't think it'll do very well for building up a lather. But I felt bad buying the lemonade pitcher from the first lady, and not for the other who had the shop next door. "I have a shop here...come in & spend some money!" Guilt trip much? Then she begged me to come back next week. That's a fair grunt, from Austin to Leakey, just to look at junk. Edit: I watched a couple of YouTube videos on these things (since I'd never used one before), and found it actually works pretty good in keeping my brush & lather warmed up. More practice to come, I reckon.
