1. They are pretty awesome when they are broken in, aren't they?

  2. Next up I'll talk about the lone boar that I have in rotation.

    The SOC

    Great boar in my opinion.

    Big but not too big.

    Good handle shape.

Gets so soft when broken in.
  3. Yeah, and for the price.... Hard to complain.

  5. I'm just crazy for silver tip badger, so all of my brushes have it. My favorite is one with a slender spalted maple handle. It was designed for a woman's hand and gifted to me by a TSD member.

As you can see, I have a few brushes in my collection...lol. (And honestly, I have a few more hidden away somewhere. Somebody help me!) I tend to be partial to silvertips, but the couple boars I own I really do enjoy. Once the tips split their lathering ability is hard to beat.

These 5 (L-R) would represent my favorites, and here's why:

Shavemac 22mm in faux horn - feels awesome, great backbone, and my go to brush for smaller tins.

Thäter 24mm - super dense knot (feels like a 26mm), produces awesome lather, and is great for when I'm head and face shaving because it holds a TON of soap.

Custom 24mm - My latest acquisition, I won this in a raffle for FIVE BUCKS!! It's one of the most beautiful brushes I own; awesome pearlescent handle with a beautiful 'peacock' ring. Just getting broken in, but I can tell it will be a solid performer.

Rudy Vey tulip 24mm synthetic - My go-to travel brush. Super soft, great backbone, and dries quickly.

Rudy Vey 24mm barrel 'Disco' brush - Well, that's what *I* call it, anyway. It just puts me in a good mood. It and the RV Moonjava I have run neck and neck except for in thing--the hooked bristles put this one over the top for me. They really make my whiskers stand on end.

This is a Hardright Davy Jones restored with a 22mm synthetic. Why it's a great size and shape; I find myself reaching for it 9 out of 10 times.
