April 28, 2016 A month with my Schick Type F. My three weeks with the F were very successful, so I’m using this last week to assess the Type G. Hot Shower Razor:1946-55 NOS G4 Schick 66 Navy (Shave 4) Blade: The FergieFeather Mod (Feather AC Pro - cut to fit) (2) Soap: Route 66 - A Perfect Gent Brush: Stirling Kong TSD Witch Hazel AS: Myrsol Blue Two-pass shave - XTG, ATG Probably didn’t even need the XTG pass and could have gone straight to one ATG pass…but I wanted to shave! Will do one or more shaves with the great combo…and it is great but for now, the Type F/FeatherAC Pro are still the top combo I’ve assessed so far regarding the Schick C1, D, F or G4. Though I never tried the Feather in the D. Cheers! RT
Behind again. One last shave with this one before it goes to Glenn to have some original inlays installed. Dubl Duck Satinwedge Badger Brush Route 66 Sweeny Todd Lustray Blue Spice aftershave

Thank you. The polished Blackbird looks great with that brush. So tempting with the second round of the BB coming.
Monday April 25th It is decision day for my Gillette Slim, day 7 of the playoffs, how ever you look at it after this shave this razor will stay in my den or find a new home. I loaded a brand new Feather hoping to up the aggression and set the razor wide open. Very smooth and mild shave and most of my face was BBS except the razor really struggled on my jaw line. Since I am not a collector and I do not have any nostalgic feeling for shaving this razor will find a new home. Irritation A Closeness B+ Smoothness A Sharpness B+ Definitely staying: Genco Easy Aces SR, hard to let go of cool looking, great shaving piece of vintage American steel just because it is smaller than I like. It is also my only vintage American SR. Ever Ready Lather Catcher Leaning toward staying: Wade and Butcher will stay in the SR stable until a much nicer specimen can be sourced. Ever Ready Lather Catcher GEM Junior Leaning toward releasing: Jerry Stark 5/8 SR. Looks great, shaves great just to small a blade. I would prefer to sell this and trade up for a larger blade JR 5/8 round point. I will use this razor to improve my honing skills. Will be released: Sight unseen Whipped Dog SR. This shaves great but I want to PIF it to someone who wants to get started with SR. (PIFed) Merkur Vision - despite major coolness she can't compete with an aggressive Futur. (Sold) BBS-1 - Give my move to the dark side it is just not aggressive enough to remain in my DE stable. (sold) Fatip Piccolo (sold) Mongoose Merkur 37C slant (sold) GEM Micromatic Open Comb - or in short MMOC (silver coloured) GEM Micromatic Open Comb - or in short MMOC (in gold) Gillette Slim H1
@NCoxSTL, I had a shaky Russian man come to my door offering to shave me if I did not shave myself. I convinced him I would get to it tonight and he left me a new pocket knife. He got his truck stuck on the way here. He was very proud of the picture he took when they helped him out. No wonder he was shaking. Here's a comparison between the knife he gave me and the "normal" version.
I would get my truck stuck everyday if I had help like that. Gotta love Russian women. As far as the knife, that is a much more functional version for Russians. Anything that holds vodka can be opened with that. Official cartel gear!
Arko April in Russia - New Laptop Edition April 28 Before getting to the shave I want to shout out to @John Ruschmeyer who blew me away with a spontaneous "laptop PIF" when my computer burst into flames. When people wonder why we like it here so much there are a lot of reasons. The love of shaving, the ability to discuss what we love with others who share the passion, the absolute fun we have with shenanigans and all that...but the main reason is the people. It's the attitude of giving and sharing, whether it's PIFing soaps, blades, razors, loaning gear, secret Santa....all of that and now, for the first time I've seen, a PIF of a computer. I've seen this same spirit of generosity and true friendship between many of the members here and I'm proud to call this place home! I'm still going to do a pictureless version tonight since I'm in the middle of setting everything up on the cloud and such, but I'll be fully up and running by morning I'm sure. Oh, and one more surprise when I powered this thing on....it already knew my name. AND.....the computer's name? Voskhod. Don't tell me this isn't a match made in heaven. Razor this morning was the same, '59 Super Speed, the blade was the Gillette Silver Blue. BoS for the brush, Tabac again for the soap. The GSB is without a doubt one of the finest blades made and it performed like it this morning. Two pass and a few touch ups and the baby crawled right up and said hello. It's a Teflon blade that is right alongside the Voskhod in my book, and many others as well. If it was a bit more competitively priced it would occupy more space in my stash. Great shave from a great blade and I'll do it again tomorrow. @DDuckyMark has apparently seen the boys on their journey as they tried to force a shave on him earlier. I would like to know where they found their mechanic. Check out his post and you'll see why I'm going to purposely break my car.
I'm not sure why they were at my place. Passed right by you. Maybe they were trying to ruin the truck again. They picked the wrong part of the country for a repeat. These are local mechanics.
Well they aren't the brightest. Maybe not even up to par with your local guys there. Too much vodka, too few brain cells. When I grew up it was duct tape and baling wire. That could keep a tractor going an entire season!
No shave tonight, SWMBO is back in the ER, they believe she has an abdominal abscess. They just did a cat scan, we're waiting on results now.
