  3. Yes you can say that again. I have a Few Rolls that I keep practicing with. They are still cheap if you look. I am not even using the case. I do it all outside of it with lapping film and balsa wood. I need lots of practice shaving with it. Just finished a 3 pass shave no blood. DFS shave.

  7. I haven't a Video Camera at Home..The thing is it can take a More than a Moment & the Phone well I don't know how to work it...I Do this System here Tom that Lynn Abrams is Showing..I couldn't make a Video or Explain it any Better..The System he is using here from Start to Finish is what I use...The Only difference is that I am Using the Lapping Film Equivalent...This is the method I use & it Works..Its the same principle for SE Blades..No Different...:)

I Honed a Blade Tonight Using this Method & Its the Dogs Danglies..:D

  9. There are Many ways to Do things..This System Works..The Work is in Setting the Bevel..If the Bevel isn't Set the Games a Bogey..Setting the Bevel can take some work in these Hollow Ground Blades..All that Means is that the Edge has to be Set Even on Both Sides & Meet in the Middle..The Rest is More or Less a Formality..:angelic007:

  11. The Only thing He Doesn't Show here is that if a Blade is needing some work one side may need more work than the Other to Set the Bevel..:angelic007:

  12. Ok got you. Also on one of my Rolls blades there seems to be some very small pits on the bevel. Not sure if that will make for a bad shave or not. I need to get a cheapo microscope to see better. 20x is not enough for me.

  13. Those need to be Ground Out Tom..When you are Honing the Blade those will Be Polished Out..My Edge is like a Mirror..I don't Need a Micro Lens to see that as it sort of appears in Front of Your Eyes..Thats just an Experince thing..A Micro Lens with a Light is Invaluable tho..:p

  14. I got one of these in anticipation of learning as well. I've used it to examine Billy's work and the work of the other guy who honed some blades and straights for me. Works well. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YBHQ7X2/?tag=thshde-20

    Three Pass Shaving Routine..

Hot Water prep & massage with Argan Oil
    C.V Heljestrand Hollow Ground SE
C.V Heljestrand Hollow Ground Blade (Freshly Honed)
    Fitchard Pure Badger
    Haslinger Tallow Soap
    Thayers Original Witch Hazel

I spent some time this Evening Honing a C.V Heljestrand Hollow Ground..This Blade is NOS from the Factory but the Bevel hadn't been Set..I used One from the Box before & it lasted for Months with Just Stropping it..Must have been Lucky with that One..I had a late Evening Shave with it as I am Free to Play Tomorrow because its Holiday time..:)

The Freshly Honed C.V Heljestrand Blade was Ever So Sharp & Forgiving..Smooth as Icing on a Cake..I knew before I stuck it in the Razor that this was Gonna be a Real Smooth One..I used to think that the Rolls Wedge Blades were Smoother but Not Anymore..I look for an Almost Invisible Edge Kinda Feeling when I Touch the Blade when I am Honing it..The C.V Heljestrand is like a PAL Injecomatic on Steroids Sorta Post Shave Feeling...It just Shaves Ever so Darn Close..A very light Touch & Zero Pressure is Required like a Straight Razor Shave...These Hollow Ground Edges are Sensitive & Demand a Constant Mindfulness..:D

That's Said..I Can Throw the C.V Heljestrand around with some Abandon & I am Dolphin Smooth & Had the Shave of My Life Tonight with this Nordic Beauty..:angelic007:
