Today's shave: Saturday May 7, 2016 Schick H1 injector Chinese Schick blade (1) Plisson synthetic brush Stirling Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo WSP Gaelic Tweed aftershave So I have a chance to pick up an H1 for a nice price and thanks to forums like this one I do. It is a remarkable shaver, managing to be smooth and close without being overly aggressive. The handle, or rather lack thereof, takes some getting used to. It is difficult to rinse off the business end without getting the grip wet, which makes it slippery despite the ridges. Still, I cannot argue with the results. This would make a good travel razor, although it would take me a few more shaves to get used to it. So, I've shaved with an H and my masculinity has survived intact . . . although I do have a sudden urge to try on some of my wife's clothes. --Bob

Tonights Shave. I am on the Wedge Train now. Razor: Henckels Rapide Blade: Henckels Rapide (1) Freshly honed by me Soap: WSP Rustic Shaving Soap Lavenderwood. Super nice aroma and nice and slick. Brush: WD 24 mm Synthetic AS: VIBR Anyhow a received a Great ESF Rapide from @spidey9. That sent mo on the search for another one. I found this beauty with 3 very clean blades. They needed some love to bring the edge back. Taking Bob's and Billy's advice I honed up the blade using the lapping film. Then finished it off on some Balsa with Chromium oxide. and a good stropping. I knew what a good blade should feel like thanks to Bob's fine honing skills. I was not disappointed with my efforts. not as smooth as Bob's but still a very smooth and enjoyable shave. In fact I did 4 passes tonight to see if I would get any irritation. Mind you the 4th pass was totally unneeded. I did get a slight burn with the Aluminum Block. Tom
Went to visit Mom and Dad today and while we were there dad says I have something for you. He proceeded to go into the bedroom and upon his return he handed me his Rolls Razor and he said this is for you. And mother said hold on a minute I found this the other day in the bathroom closet and she came out with dads old Ever Ready brush and said he don't use it no more you can have it to. I'm so excited to have some of my dads shaving equipment. The Rolls Razor is missing the shaving handle but I'm sure I can find one easy enough. I can't wait to try out dads gear so excited.
Welcome to the club, Bob! The H is one Amazing razor. And who knows, you might look good in your wife's clothes! Seriously folks, until you try the H it's hard to believe just how good it is.
Right on. That is too cool. I actually saw a rolls handle in a razor lot listing a few days ago. It was pretty cheap. Be sure to let us know how it shaves. Now you have your setup for fathers day. I am fortunate enough to have amy dads old setup. Brush bowl and razor.
In fact I did 4 asses tonight to see if I would get any irritation. Um, I think you might want to keep that quiet...
That's cool I think anything handed down from our parents is great. I will post first shave with it when I find a handle
More wedge train coming through. Day 7 with the wedges and it was back to the Heljestrand. Still progress to be made but each shave continues to be better than the last. There were a few strokes where it was absolute smoothness and I'm starting to notice nuances from different combinations of speed and length of strokes. Face rubbing goodness at the end. Looking forward to Day 8. AOS Lavender Pre Shave Oil Sterling Soap Bergamot Lavender Savile Row 3824 C.V. Karl That Helje is a thing of beauty. That for sure is on my want list. Just can't tell the wife about it.
