The Grooming Co. synthetic brush
LA Shaving Soap Co. Blackfern soap
Pinaud Lilac Vegetal aftershave
My reaction the first time I saw a picture of a Cobra Classic: "I want one." What followed was a couple of years of frustration as I was unable to connect with Classic Razors (the sole distributor) during the brief periods (usually measured in nanoseconds) when the razor was actually in stock. Recently I worked out a deal with a member of another shaving forum and finally I have one.
I tried it yesterday with a Kai Titan Mild and found that its reputation as a hyper-aggressive face eater is way overblown. Today I loaded a Feather Artist Club Professional and enjoyed one of the best shaves of my wet shaving life - very close to perfectly BBS, and not a single weeper or even a hint of irritation.
Stainless steel razors are all the rage these days, but the Snake is pure old school: Solid brass with a beautiful heavy nickel plating. It weighs in at 3.3 oz and in my hand feels as perfectly balanced as any razor I own. The handle has always been controversial but it feels great to me.
It's one of the coolest looking razors I own - not surprising, since its styling was obviously influenced by one of the other coolest looking razors I own:
(For anyone not familiar with injectors, that's a PAL Adjustable, circa 1962)
I'm looking forward to spending some time with this one - at least until the Rocnel, ATT SE and Single Edge injector arrive.
Last night I was awakened by a horrible noise coming from my medicine cabinet. Note to self: Do not store the Cobra next to the Mongoose.
