Having some of the John Aylesbury English Mixture that @BamaT sent me; in my Pearwood churchwarden. Chose this pipe because A)I haven't really used it at all and B) That would me no traces of other tobaccos left behind to mar the flavor at all; giving me a better idea as th the tobaccos characteristics. So far, I'm liking this tobacco and think I may have to grab a tin; as well as try some of their other blends. I see on P&C that they have a Latakia blend. =)
Yes, all the 7 standard line Brigham pipes accept the rock maple filters. Their website shows their current 7 styles and the shapes available http://www.brighampipes.com/2006 Update.htm I don't know about the Sportsman line, it's not on their website. P&C has a good sale on Brighams now, but they don't have all the styles and shapes. They don't appear to have the Voyageur. Smokingpipes.com has a better selection but the pipes cost $30-40 more. EDIT - it looks like the top four lines all have identical shapes and acrylic stems, just with different finishes. I'm assuming they determine the finish based on the pipe surface, and those with cosmetic flaws get the sandblasted Chinook finish and the best looking pipes get the light Acadian finish.
it looks like we are fixing to get hammered again I need to pickup some Orlik lots of people seem to really like it.
Aw, man! Just when I think I'm all set to wait on another Novak, these Brighams start showing up. Yeah, I want one; and then this Bing shows up, and yeah, I want one of those too!
Basil does great work, by far my favorite pipe! He actually got a hold of and uses the actual specs of the service merchant Bing!
Orlik Golden Sliced is my most frequent tobacco choice. It's navy flake style processed Virginia, with just a whisper of perique. It's very similar to Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake. Orlik Golden Mixture is a different thing altogether, but it is the only aromatic I stock in my cellar. It's basically Golden Sliced with some unflavored Black Cavendish and a smidge of white burley to smooth it out and give it some punch.
First bowl in brand new series III Sav 320. First smoke with it. Couldn't pass it up was only 49 bucks at one site for their annual father day sale
Late night pipe, AJ's VaPer in a be the rusticated bent Nording. Daytime pic, obviously. Trying to decide if AJ's will rate a larger bulk purchase. I like it, but right now, I'm thinking I will try something different with next order. Still have maybe 2 oz left.
Yeah, I think the same. I'll try what Chris suggested, see if that helps. It seems to me that the 2 H&H VaPers I've tried, AJ's and La. Red, are too heavy on Perique. I do like the unflavored cavendish in AJ's.
