Two days growth is a great excuse to go for the Ralf Aust tomorrow.

All right all right all right!!!! I know I said I was going back to MAYhem today but I needed to test how I like the Goose on a new handle so I took one for the team and used the Goose again....for science???

This handle changed the Goose from an amazing shaver into a perfect shaver. After MAYhem is over I can already tell this Goose is going to make every other razor in my Den collect dust.

@NCoxSTL, the granger might be easier because it doesn't have the lip. The Dorco BB might be a good choice too. Not being quite as sharp might help you keep all of your scalp. At least it may give you a bit of warning before it fillets you. Remember, I did a head shave with a cheap shavette loaded with a Dorco 300. No blood. Take your time and don't try advanced technique on your head (scything, buffing).

You might want the boys to distract Ivan for awhile. You know how he likes to suggest bloodletting mid shave.

The @Norcalnewb shave is on the books and I'm still standing after the Mladost II did its best to take me down. Details this evening!

Tomorrow it's @Mr. Freeze93....the "No Mercy" shave. The 1918 Old Style, Blendax blade, Marvy soap and the VDH Boar brush. I gave him the opportunity to switch me out to the Super Max Tiger, which about killed him, but he knows I hate the Blendax and I might like the SM Tiger (doubtful but within statistical probablities). So, he left me with the Blendax. In an aggressive razor. On the world's worst soap (yes, I would rate Williams above Marvy, but barely). Gonna be an interesting Sunday morning.

And, with that shave set it brings @Keithmax to the top of the list. You know the numbers sir, so let me know what you choose.

Saturday Shower/Shave

Shower- Noxzema facial cleaner, Dr. Bronner's All-One Hemp Peppermint bar soap
Brush- RazoRock Tri-Colored
Razor- Muhle R41 on a Maggard MR5 handle
Blade- Personna Blue (1)
Soap- Route 66 Barbershop HOP with M-Bomb
Thayers Witch Hazel with grapefruit EO and M-Bomb
AS- Florida Water with M-Bomb

Lots of menthol today and it was effective in cooling me down. My first try with the Personna Blue and I like it. I'll give it another go tomorrow but I think it will make the final cut. I absolutely love this Route 66 soap and it was made even better by the addition of menthol. I added M-Bomb to the Thayers today which is something I usually do not do. I think I'm going to start, I love the chill it gives. Followed by the Florida Water with M-Bomb I am sufficiently cooled off.

Another BBS shave from riding the cap. I had one small area of irritation but it was due to operator error. Other than that area it was a flawless shave. Have a great day folks!

Nice, enjoyable shave with the GEM Featherweight. I'm really enjoying my SE focus this month. I've also figured out some secret with VDH. The enormous boar whips up beautiful, thick, yogurty lather. I load for a long time and incorporate a good amount of water. It's becoming a really good soap for me.

We'll, I fell off the NB16 bandwagon, much to SWMBO's dismay. I got a couple of American razors, this ShurEdge and a JW Wiss & Sons, along with a Japanese. All we advertised as shave ready, but I have had mixed results with that. This razor was shave ready, but it feels like it could use a little more work. It got the job done, and I ended with a CCS, but it was just a bit tuggy. I will probably give it another go tomorrow, and I may have just had an off shave this morning. This Saturday is shaping up to be busy, and I hope everyone day.

On the pleasure end of a two-week business / pleasure trip.
Alternating between two Schick two razors:

Nearly 40 years ago my folks retired to a rustic beach house on a quiet island in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.





One of my favorite aspects is their outdoor shower where I also shave when visiting.





3-day growth (I'm on island time) 3-pass shave (WTG, XTG, ATG)
Razor: Schick Repeater C1
Blade: Personna *74 (5)
Soap: Stirling "Island Man"
Brush: Rubberset 300N 'Plastiset' Nylon
TSD Witch Hazel
AS: Stirling "Island Man"

What an excellent shave!
The C1 and Personna 74 just clear-cut so completely through the old growth on the first pass that I just went right to the last pass ATG. The Personna is just as sharp as ever and maybe smoother than after its 1st use. The tallow-based Stirling was so slick the C1 just sailed on the ocean breeze like a schooner through a glassy sea.

Beaut of a razor. I love American steel, and that's one I don't have yet. I my need to try and tempt you with a trade!

I had seen them around a bit, but didn't know too much about them. After a little research, they supposedly compare favorably to Case razors. Now, I don't have one of those to really compare it to, but I felt it would take a chance on it. I think it definitely has some some potential, I may just need to get the edge touched up a bit.

The company was actually operetated one of the case family. The steel is the same type of stuff from other NY/ Pennsylvania cutleries at the time.
