I passed a Lady Gillette blue handled razor to my lady friend some months back. I do believe she enjoys it. I've shared several soaps and creams to her.The bargain bin a Krogers has many discontinued products at great prices. In conversation she mentioned that it will take years to use everything I sent her way because she was only just using the second soap. That's when I understood she was using them in the order I passed them. I gently explained how she should try each one and enjoy the variety. Who ever heard of using just one soap until it was gone? After conversation with my father I realized he's not going to give up his throw away plastic Bics. But mom got interested. I had two flare tips, so I made one available to her. The other day I noticed she had made a home for it. I think she likes it since it's on display now.
Good fort all of you & your SO's!! The hubby didn't have to convince me. He & I took this journey together. After acquiring a few collectibles, we actually have been saving money. We both like the same brand of blade, making it easy to buy in bulk. And I make our soap &PSO along with his colognes.
Sara, do you have a thread or is there a thread out there talking about homemade aftershave and colognes ?
There are loads of threads about soaps in "Inside the Den". There are one or two about specific aftershaves, but I don't think there is one about home made colognes. But if you like, I can start one.
I picked up a real nice Lady Gillette for my daughter and I plan on giving it to her this weekend. I shaved with it once to test it out and got great results. The only problem I encountered was that the blue handle clashed with my eyes.
If I recall, someone said the Lady Gillette has the same head as a SuperSpeed flare tip of the same year? If any razor is the great, middle of the spectrum, standard, to judge other razors by, that's it.
She also has a Knack which she uses on occasion as they are about the same size, but lighter. Good one to use on a trip in case it gets forgotten, cheap to replace.
