Started off with the Pella blade again like yesterday. This wasn't very comfortable. It's definitely sharp but doesn't feel smooth to me whatsoever. It tugged on my neck again pretty badly. So I struggled through the first pass and then injected a new Chick blade into the G1. Went back for touch-ups on the jaw and neck with much better results. The auditory feedback was much closer to a velcro sound and everything felt much smoother. I guess the Pella blades just aren't for me. As always, YMMV.

The VDH soap is nearing its end. I think I'll get two or three more shaves out of it. It's been an excellent soap once I figured out the water ratio and began using the big boar brush. I've really enjoyed it.

It is no doubt the best value in shaving I have come across. I actually like the scent, too. It has the obvious lemon, but there is something else going on, too. The scent lingers in my dopp kit, so I always think if it every time I open it. The performance is great, too.

Is it possible that the blade got drug against the guides as it was injected thus ruining the edge ?

At this point in my RAD and honing skills, with only shaving every other day, this would take me over a year.

Kicking off my 18th consecutive focus. June will be George W. Korn appreciation month in my Den. Razors marked Geo. W. Korn were made in Little Valley, NY. The quality of steel is comparable to Case, Kinfolks, and Cattaraugus razors. George was a Master Grinder who worked for most of these companies at one point or another, and also made his own razors, and ground razors for Sears. He invented multiple innovations on razors, many of which were patented. (Side note, I found a patent for a Korn Strop, and I am going to try and build one.) I currently have three razors in my den made by Mr. Korn. The first is a hardware store razor of a standard type, and it is shave ready. The second is a fixed blade razor with a detachable safety guard, it only needs a touch up to be shave ready. The third is an American Double Hollow Ground razor, with a very thin blade and a thicker spine near the edge, giving it two hollows. This one needs a full hone from bevel set to polish. I plan on spending five shaves with each of these, to really get a feel for them. I will also mix in a few other razors as I get them back from being worked on.

Perhaps, but I had the same poor performance from two Pella blades in a row. I think they just don't work for me. I inserted the Chick blade the same way as the Pella and it was good as always.

I'm down to the bottom of my VDH Deluxe puck as well. I use that for head shaves. Hasn't failed me yet.

Not much to say about this shave besides dolphin smooth and frozen solid.

Shave was done about 9 today. Full details later. I will say that I'm growing ever impressed with the Artist Club shaves. Last Monday's head shave with it and today's have me thinking I need to use them a lot more!

This has happened to me a few times with Injectors. Whenever I get a bad shave, a new blade seems to resolve the problem.

Straight Razor Rehab focus:
First up is the first straight I ever bought. A Whipped Dog sight unseen, that turned out to be a Karnak razor from St. Louis, so I guess it could be a tribute to Neal. @NCoxSTL . Of course it arrived shave ready, Larry doesn't disappoint, unfortunately I promptly ruined the edge with overzealous, but poor stropping technique. Combine that with poor shaving technique, and I never got a good shave from it. That did serve to send me down the honing rabbit hole, and now I can put an edge, good enough for me, on most razors. This is perhaps my ugliest straight. Hone worn, pitted, mottled scales, but I was able to get it shave ready this afternoon and took it for a spin. It could be a tad smoother, but I did have several days beard growth, so it could have been that. I will try it again when I have less growth. I did a full pass XTG then finished with my Weber doing a combo ATG touch-up pass. I'm calling it BBS-
A splash of Floid Blue, and I'll be taking my son to his bowling league in a bit.

As a conscientious objector to Mayhem, I sporadically viewed but didn't participate last month. With this month's theme being "Jolly Good Shaves" I'm in!
Having been the recipient to several great PIF's, and over the hump on my time with The B-V3 Bunny, I have new gear to try. A couple new-to-me razors, a German 3pc DE & a shave ready straight. Two superior strops that are a full 3 inches wide. A synthetic brush that's impressing me with it's performance, and half a dozen soaps that others rave about.
So to my otherwise flibberdegibbet style; a Focus.

• One brush for the month. The Body Shop synthetic.

• One soap for a week asuming they last that long - generous samples provided by @Marverel .

• Razors are Wild Card. The Bunny until she goes to @ob1page, then as the whim strikes.

• Aftershaves as the mood strikes. Some days I feel like The Veg, some days I don't.

I sometimes feel stress to take photos and document every shave, but I enjoy the process. Setting up a shot, transferring files to the computer to photoshop, typing out the info on that particular experience. This is the price I pay to be an active member in the community.

Why a random landscape? Why not! Just a relaxing evening with the tobacco pipes outside tonight. Have to travel tomorrow, so will switch to morning shaves on the G, 2-6 June. Ride the cap and rock on. Other than that... All is quiet in Colorado.

They don't have to be pretty to shave like a pro. Karnak, eh. I'll do some research on that. And a somewhat beat up blade fits an STL tribute too. Will look like some of our finer North City neighborhoods.

All I know is, it was made by the Karnak More Company which was in operation in St. Louis from 1920 to 1940. I can't find any info about the company, however.
