Not a great shave My cheeks feel great, but my neck is a mess. I got a few weepers and some burn there. It seems I am not always able to dial in this lather correctly. I wonder if the PSO interfered, though it does not bother the lather of other soaps. Live and learn. At least I smell good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SOTD Thu. 6/2/16 Prep: Noxzema Classic SS: TSD Ized Shave Stick SB: Semogue 620 Boar Razor: Gillette Slim (9) Blade: GSB ASB: Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill Shower Soap Bar: Grandpa's Pine Tar Cologne: Nautica Voyage Good morning guys. Such a pleasurable shave this morning with the Slim set to 9 and the TSD Ized shave stick. Very protective lather form it with a wonderful minty fresh scent and freezing feel. Three passes for a dolphin finish. Have a great day friends. :smile :
The more I use my Stirling soaps the more I love them. The Frozen Tundra is definitely the second coldest one after the Glacials, and although it might be a bit tricky to lather, a little extra effort gives you fabulous, rich, slick lather with a monstrous menthol freeze. The Lucky Tiger took great care of me afterwards with its moisturizing effect along with additional cooling, and the Frostbite aftershave hit me with a soothing, as well as POWERFUL freeze of its own. What a great shave!
Last night's Tried these new to me Pal Gold Thin vintage blades. It was tuggy on the first pass so I traded it out for a voskhod blade and it saved the day. Ended the shave with a BBS face after 3 passes.
THURSDAY Early morning shave today with my new favorite straight razor: this vintage King Pelican 14. Killer-smooth edge, love both the shape, size and feel of the blade—and have never had a less-than-stellar shave with it. A definite keeper (as I begin to sort and thin out my razor herd) and another fine JWest razor. The Route 66 'Lumberjack' soap lather and aftershave balm are both excellent as well. Great shave! Have a great Thursday, all!
