June 2nd, 2016. Alumigoose V2 Head/ Stirling Stainless Steel Handle Kai Captain (2) Stirling 24mm Finest 2 Band Tabac Thayers Nivea Sensitive Balm Fine American Blend Broke out Tabac for todays shave and was reminded why I love this soap so much. This soap pretty much lathers itself before you even get within a foot of it with a brush. 15 second load yielded enough lather for my 4 pass shave and when I cleaned the brush out I still had enough lather in the brush to shave a small dog. 2nd shave on this Kai Captain and it just peeled through my stubble like a hot knife through butter. This month I am really going to see how long this blade lasts. I know in my CJB the AC blades last forever and a day but in the Goose I have yet to really pay attention to blade longevity. So this month I am going to use this blade until it reminds me of MAYhem to see just how far it can be pushed. 4 passes and I am Flipper The Dolphin Smooth. Skin felt a little dry this morning so after I slapped on some Thayers I threw on some Nivea to get some moisture back into the old mug. Finished my clean up and as soon as I was done I splashed on a handful of Fine American Blend. Feeling great, smelling amazing, looks......questionable...

Good morning friends, first shave of June for me and back to the blade trials. Up today is the Gillette Nacet, another blade to come out of the ST. Petersburg plant. I have seen some people compare this blade to the exalted GSB but for me they were worlds apart. For me the Nacet did not have the sharpness of the top tier blades that I enjoy and it wasn't overly smooth for me either. No tugging, riding the cap took care of that, but after each pass I noticed that the beard reduction wasn't nearly as close as the shaves that I had been getting all last month with the Astra SP. I went 3 full passes to achieve a DFS and got a lot of sting from the Alum which confirmed the roughness that I was feeling on my face. For me this blade doesnt fall to the bad blade level as the shark but rather a meh blade for me. Witch hazel and Nivea to cool the burn from the Alum and my face is feeling better. Have a great day my friends!
I didn't mention this on my post last night, but the first lather I did was actually with Jabonman Lima Incencio soap. I recently rehomed a soap that was orange menthol, because it burned a little bit more every time I put it on my face. Unfortunately, when I lathered up the Jabonman, I started having the same reaction. I think a lot of the burn from the Fine La'Orange Noir was also related to that. I wasn't heart broken when I couldn't use Arko because of the burning, but this makes me sad. What ever Route 66 uses for the orange in their Sweeny Todd soap does not react the same way.
MWF Focus I have lots of razors that have been being ignored that I am going to use this month, but still want to do a focus. One of my big disappointments has been MWF soap. I found all of the threads on how to get it to lather and can get a decent lather with it, but have not been impressed with the performance. I've decided to use this stuff for thirty days rather than just letting it hold down my counter. Today was day one and I whipped up a nice lather and got a nice two pass BBS. It wasn't as slick as I like but I'll give it a chance this month. Mitchell's Wool Fat Rubberset 400 Gillette Toggle on 8 Nacet Platinum (2) Alum Thayers WH Pinaud Lilac Vegetal
SOTD June 2, 2016 Injector/SE Focus month 2 Prep: Warm shower Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick G1 Injector Brush: Omega 10049 boar Lather: VDH Luxury...trying to use it up! Post: Witch hazel, Aqua Velva, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up Back to the Chick blade today after a sojourn with Pella blades. Chicks are the way to go for me! Smooth, close, comfortable shave. The VDH is on its last leg. I think I'll get one more shave out of it. It's been a great soap. The Aqua Velva didn't sting near as much as last time. It felt good. All in all a good shave! Enjoy your day!
I don't think its The Fat that is to blame. You see the issue is that Toggle and Rubberset. Send them both to me ASAP and I "promise" your views of The Fat will change.
If the Fat isn't great for you then I will volunteer my home as a disposal area for it. It will be tough to get rid of but I think I'm up to the task. Anything for my Shave Den Brethren.
Yes @mrchick!!! Tears are great for a shave and are free. And @Drygulch the slickness and glide of tears is second to none. I saw we all throw out or creams and soaps and just shave with tears like men!!! Just send me all your soaps, creams, ect and you will never regret it.... I know I wont.
