I have heard from others who have claimed an allergic reaction to lanolin.

No as others have said you are not alone. I could get a good lather from MWF but never really considered the performance above average.

I think it's time to do a thirty day focus on MWF, rather than just having this puck decorate my bathroom counter. As you can see, I get a nice latter. I'm going to use it for a while and see if I can find a way to get better performance.

Erik Redd Lizabeth, baby, I'm comin' to join ya.

If you use it daily it will stay hydrated and perform well.

I'm sure after 30 days you'll say "Not BAAAAAD!"

I'll disagree and say Tabac. No soaking,
    no grating,
    no special brushes Two:
    no extra effort
Just look at Tabac and it will practically lather itself.

    +1!!!

I love Tabac but MWF is second to none (IMO). Great slickness, amazing post shave feel and I can lather it with my eyes closed.

    Illuminati much? Fnord on!
The texture of the bowl seems to make much discordia and smooth lather.

Well, I don't have one of the ceramic dishes for mine, as I just have the refill puck; but I set it in a container and covered it in water several hours ago. I'll leave it till about 2pm tomorrow and see what we have. Thanks for the thread link.

Ok, so I let my puck soak for about 8 hours and then removed it. I know I said I was going to wait 24 hours; but I decided I'd like to get one of the ceramic MWF dishes to put it in before I let it soak completely. I did notice that even after 8 hours, the puck had "grown" quite a bit. I decided to give it a try and did a simulated face lather on my hand. It took a little working up, but I got a rich, creamy lather that felt plenty slick to get a good save with! I really can't wait to try a shave with it again now.

Also, if anyone out there has a MWF dish they're willing to part with, PM me. I now realize I need one, lol. It's an OCD thing I think. =P
