Seen the Krion material before? "It is a material that is warm to the touch and similar to natural stone. It is made of two-thirds natural minerals (ATH – aluminium trihydride) and a low percentage of high-resistance resins. This composition gives KRION™ a number of exclusive features: it does not have any pores, it is anti-bacterial without any type of additive, it is hard-wearing, highly resistant and easy to repair, only requires minimum maintenance and is easy to clean." (source)

Epsilon brushes were recently made precisely out of this material. And when I saw a post with photos on another forum,.. well. ADevil on my shoulder whispered in my ear and I couldn't help myself. The photo really doesn't do it justice.

Nothing big, but waiting for this Gillette case to come in today. $7.00 shipped, I can live with that. Does anyone know which razor or razors it could've been made for? Also, my Pre Shave Oil supplies came in yesterday and I made up a batch. Posted my recipe on Simple DIY Projects thread. s-l1600 (2).jpg s-l1600 (3).jpg

Well, it's roached and probably beyond help, but I couldn't help myself because of the name and heritage.

The broken scale is what stinks. That won't keep it from shaving once she's restored though!

I do have a Fat Handle Gold Tech that could use a home. But the case could use a relining, plus a couple of slits on the outside. So either do it in red like original, or what ever I have available for a redone razor. It'll take me a while to decide.

Cool. I just relined an old Gillette metal case. I did it in red felt. The case was gutted and I got it as part of a lot. I initially spray painted it black but I noticed the paint cracking so I stripped it and now it's an aged brass look to it. The nickel plating was already mostly gone.

I did the same on a case I showed in another thread about open comb razors, took off the plating and left it showing the brass, then lined it to fit the razor. One thing that I have done in the past on other types of cases, metal, wood and plastic, give it a good sanding. If possible, use etching primer on metal, then I use Rubberized Undercoating and spray a few light coats until completely covered. When dry, it'll have a textured feel to it and then it can be sprayed any color you like. It is very durable. Just might have to do it to this case.

Oh yeah, when using the etching primer, spray lightly, just a "dusting".
