06/07/2016 AlumiGoose with Triad SS Feather Pro (3) Rudy Vey with Shavemac Finest Route 66 Perfect Storm Witch Hazel Fine L’Orange Whipped Shea Butter Since it rained all night long, I thought Route 66 Perfect Storm would be an appropriate soap to use for today's shave. As expected Perfect Storm was easy to whip into a rich slick lather. Going with a 2 pass, XTG & ATG, shave followed my minimal touch ups ended in a near BBS. Finished off with a splash of Fine L'Orange. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
Tabacstag! Tabac has been a classic for a long time. This shave was no exception, except that it was an exceptional shave. I can accept that some people don't like the scent, but I love it on its own, and because it reminds me of my Dad. I used a 5-5-6 progression with the Futur again, resulting in a smooth face with no drama. Tabac aftershave finished it off right. I'm also really liking Kiehl's Calendula face wash. It is expensive up front, but it only takes one pump to do the job. This bottle will last close to a year at this rate. It seems to help my rosacea and calms my skin in general. SOTD June 7, 2016 Prep: Warm shower Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick G1 Injector Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic Lather: Williams Mug Soap Post: Witch hazel splash, Mennen Skin Bracer, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up Nice shave with Williams Mug Soap this morning. I've been trying some tips from a thread in the Shave Soap area about how to deal with Williams. I've always had good lathers that dissipated on my face but have known others who have been successful with it. So I tried a few tips and got a nice, dense, slick lather that didn't evaporate! It was a really good shaving lather. The G1 performed magnificently again. One pass with touch-ups is all I needed. The witch hazel felt good, the Skin Bracer cooled me off some, and the Nivea always tops it off in great fashion. Nice, enjoyable shave for this Tuesday. Hope you all have a great day!
