From my experience tonight with it he sure does, got a Great shave with it! and still had enough lather left to shave a teacup poodle!
So, I need an official ruling. Does this............ Count as a straight razor? It's the Swan safety razor from Japan. NOS, don't have a history on it yet but it's the "straight razor on a stick" if I've ever seen one. Well, ok, safety razor on a stick? Whatever it is @Drygulch suggested I try it out. His exact words used to persuade me....."Dare You!" Well I'm not going to have my honor besmirched by turning down that challenge! It's on its way and, since it should count as a straight.....or maybe it's a "Double Edged Safety Pain Stick" (?), I can use it this month without breaking focus. Win, win. And win, of course, if it does bodily harm for your entertainment.
I agree the Fat is a bit finicky. It's still my number one soap because when it's done right WOW is it right. However, Tabac is a close second and gaining slightly due to its more forgiving nature on the whole water equation. Oversoak or use too wet a brush on the Fat and you're in trouble. Add too much water and you're in trouble. Tabac allows you to be less precise and if you start a bit dry you can add water without fear of going over the line as the Fat can do.
Mail call today! Got some blades. I know, you're shocked, right? Well actually I received 15 German Wilkinsons.....a very fine blade.....from @Joe Babb . Nice! And, my Quick Tigers, the Chinese knock off of the Czech Tiger arrived as well after taking the slow boat from London. One of those will find itself into a trial soon I'm sure. With a Wilkinson on reserve to save my life, no doubt!
Same brush/ next soap Focus TBS Synthetic Russian Birch handle RazoRock Son of Zeus sample Schick Olympic L6 & Chick blade BSA Fresh Cool Breeze AS Expecting my second sample of a RazoRock croap to be semisoft, I wet my face and smeared a bit around. Pleasant scent that reviews suggest is their version of Terre d'Hermès cologne; Top notes - Grapefruit, Orange. Heart notes - Gunflint, Flint, Peppers, Pink peppercorn, Geranium leaves, Patchouli, Baies rose. Base notes - Atlas cedarwood, Vetiver, Gum benzoin. That's a lot of notes... but it's not overpowering in any way & makes a very serviceable lather. I'm looking forward to enjoying it this week, or until I use up the generous sample provided by @Marverel 's PIF. Not my most handsome razor, this little Schick found me at a nearby antique shop. The red and blue pin stripes are nearly faded away, & at some point the plastic handle was exposed to heat - slightly misshapen. But it shaves like a champ. If I lost it traveling, I'd be out little money, but a great tool. Barber Shop Aid Fresh Cool Breeze AS was the first post care product I purchased when I began wet shaving. I still enjoy the tangerine & guava scent. The menthol cooling works well now that summer is here.
well you and a few others are to blame, I just did what you said you did there in your posts when you got a good shave!
I didn't get nuts with it today... but how about a little Sheffield Menthol Monday.... Jolly June!!! 13 June 2016 This razors slays whiskers. Game over. Two spine-width angle for the grail. Niece of Samurai arrived this evening in Birmingham. @BamaT should probably be reading this too. Long day but a warm heart out on the prairie. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado. Have a terrific Tuesday!
