Oh this is fabulous! Kind of like the 30 day thread in '42....tricks tips and a bit of shenanigans. I mean, talking blades, uppity valet razors. It doesn't get any better than this. Return your razor to your dealer so they can return it to the factory? And yes, one blade at a time. Now THAT'S keeping a fresh blade in.
You know, when I reread that.....the fact that you have to type the line "shaved poodles being fed to bears discussion" kind of makes one think about the intellectualism of this group. On the other hand, creative and active minds are required to ponder such things. I think we're ahead of our time.
Thank you, Gents! I get to go visit next month. Adam, you're a man of true conviction. We salute you. But that's nuts! oh yeah, Type E is a gateway drug to straight razors... Kudos Keith! (@Keithmax ) was the guy who primarily led me to the dark side. And on that note.... Jolly June!!! Frederick Reynolds Week - shave 101!!! 14 June 2016 This Sheffield took 30 laps on the web, 50 laps on the @Drygulch 45, and provided another clean, close shave. This razor seems to like a slightly higher angle than the Ralf Aust, but still pretty low. Caught the Pacific Rush! DFS on two plus some chin touchup, with one tiny weeper beside the ear (operator error, bad blade placement). Today was pumps and seals, tomorrow will be fans and switches, always plenty to do around summertime on the prairie. Felling like summer too! 90s with full sun. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Well, I'd settle for an audio file of the screaming, though a video of the jumping around with appropriate censorship would make my day. Especially if we could get his SWMBO in the video giving that "look" with the head shake. We all know which one that is.

June Focus Day 14: Stirling Synthetic Brush Mitchell's Wool Fat J Baker & Co Stirling Unscented PSB Skin Bracer After all the talk about MWF lately, I had to give it a go this morning. I was worked it nice and slow, adding small amounts of water as I built my lather. I ended with tons of nice, cushiony lather that was fairly slick. I found my problem with MWF is that I tend to get afraid to add more water as this causes the lather to completely break down, so I get a lather that is great for a safety razor shave, but a little drier than I would like for a straight shave. I still get a DFS with no irritation from the lather, but my blade can drag a bit. The Sheffield wedge was nice and smooth this morning. It took a little more clean up, but I did manage a DFS this morning. Overall, this was a good shave. I hope everyone has a great day!
Alas, Gentlemen. I no longer have either Osage Rub or the Veg in my house. Nor do I allow filming while shaving. Really, no one wants to see that. Perhaps for Mayhem next year we can do sensitive skin testing with various levels of menthol as group.
