  1. I prefer the Schick adjustable to the Pal for a shave. The Pal is really cool looking, but I could never get as good a shave from it. The stops were too high and interfered with the smoothness. The Schick adjusts to more settings I believe. I traded my Pal for a Blue Tip Gillette. I gave the Pal adjustable a chance, but it can't compare to the Schick adjustable. IMHO.

  2. I shaved with everyone one of those razors just last week Rufus, save for the adjustable Pal which is in the mail and on it's way to me even as I'm writing this. :happy093:
  3. Sounds like I have about six weeks to try and scrounge up an adjustable Injector as all I have now are two Slims and a Black Beauty. Not a lot of comparison there. :-(
  4. so that's alternating between my Gillettes Fatboy and Slim as well as the PAL and Schick Adjustables. Very cool! DE and SE in regular rotation together. :chores016:

  5. Here's a couple of things to consider:
    • The Schick will take a twin blade but the PAL Adjustable will not
    • The PAL Adjustable is very subtle and some people find it difficult to find the angle that offers the sweet spot

Despite that, I would be torn as to which I'd choose. If it wasn't for the twins in the Schick I'd go for the PAL Adjustable hands down as I get a better shave from it. But, with the twin blade loaded, the Schick is transformed. I've never done a shave off between them so I don't know that I can confidently say I prefer the Schick with a twin over the PAL with a Chinese Schick. But it is certainly possible that that would be the outcome. Also, my choice would be influenced by looks and material and the PAL would get a nod for pure aesthetics and the durability of the stainless steel. So, probably a coin toss unless twins were not available. :sport026:

    Tough call. :shocked003:

  6. Yes thats the idea.
Last year at that time I hadn't explored injectors yet so i spent Adjustable August with just the two Gillettes. I went down the injector rabbit hole shortly thereafter and have been ever since. I wanted to start doing a comparison between injectors and DEs at some point soon and thought about August as a possibility. It may be more than I can chew all at once though - and four adjustables at that.

  8. Good advice Karl.
I think next closest to the Bunny would be a Schick Repeater, probably a C type, shaving angle is very similar to the Bunny, but Repeaters are getting pricey on the bay.

  9. They are Both Excellent Shavers..The Schick Adjustable as the Boys have said is Transformed with Twin Blades..The PAL Adjustable only takes a Single Blade but it Does Shave a Lot Closer & Deeper for a Longer Lasting BBS I Reckon..:shocked003:

The iKon OSS handle at 80 grams make this SE razor that much better. IMO.
  11. So anyhow I am on the search for SE stropping blades. I found a lot on Ebay. They were listed ad NOS. I sent the seller a question about the blades. I asked if they were un used. They replied back that they were all unused snd some of the boxes showed the usual wear from age. So I won them.

Fast forward to this afternoon. This is what I found when I opened the first pack. [IMG]
So needless to say i was a bit disappointed. I went on to open another 40 blades. They all were used and the vast majority of them still had hair on them. I feel soooo dirty now

I have contacted the seller so I hope to get this resolved.

Did I say I was bummed?

  17. +1 I have never had a refund denied when I filed a claim for a refund with eBay for defective goods or goods not as advertised. And shipping for the return has always been paid by the seller when you let eBay handle the refund claim. :happy088:

  18. Good to know about the return payment. This is my first time with defective or misrepresented product.

  19. Well the lady got back and is denying that those are the blades she mailed. Here is just one picture of a blade that I received. All have been used and the majority of the blades have hair on them.
I am kind of pissed now. [IMG]
