SOTD June 16, 2016 Pre: MWF bloom water Razor: Merkur 23c / GSB Brush: Semogue Soap: MWF Post: Witch Hazel and Jack Black Post shave Cooling Gel This morning I had a great shave. I switched to the Merkur 23c and did one pass WTG. Darn near fainted the shave was that nice!
Preshave showdown After reading many opinions on pre shaves, I decided to put Proraso White up against Jack Black Nourishing Oil. I've had good results with each in the past. After washing my face with Kiehl's Calendula face wash, I applied Proraso White to my left and JBNO to my right, letting them both do their thing for a few minutes. WSP lathered up very well at the behest of the Lather Monster, and applied evenly. I made three passes with the Futur 5-5-6, with a cold water rinse in between. During the final rinse, the JB side felt softer, but both sides were BBS with no drama. An hour later, the difference is reduced, but the JB side does still feel softer. I'll try this experiment a few more times to see if I can verify the results. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I threw another soap at the Bunny today, the wonderful Italian Barber Milionario. This soap lathers easily with a great scent that stays with you for hours. It is not the slickest but it still has excellent performance. I had 2 days of growth and it didn't faze the Bunny in the least. Two full passes today with a third just under the jawline for cleanup and a dolphin smooth finish was the result. I can't say enough nice things about this razor, it excels in every way possible.
