A mild menthol Monday. Today I took the time and added more water to Proraso than usual and I had an insane amount of thick and creamy lather. I've always had good lather with both the white and green proraso but this was ridiculous. It was also the slickest I have ever experienced from it. Top notch shave and the best SE shave to date. Minute amount of burn from the AS and a very close shave. All aboard the Gem Train!

    Bill,

that handle looks a lot like the one on this Speedway razor:

Yeah, it sure does. It looks like the only difference is the bottom plate is open comb and mine is a closed bar. I don`t know how to thank you. You have helped me immensely. Thank you so very much, your fiend, Bill BTW, this razor is one of the best shavers I own. If not THE best.

You know, that`s the first thing I noticed when I first saw it. linusguile identified it for me. It`s a 1925 Speedway( closed bar). It shaves better than most of my other razors. I got it on the bay for I think $ 12.95 free shipping. Who woulda thunk.

Prep - Noxzema / Hot towel
    Pre shave - Prep
    Razor – Weber ARC
    Blade – Timor
Brush - 'Jade' (Rooney Heritage 2XL Jade)
Soap – Phoenix and Beau Unscented
    Post - Witch Hazel

The Timor proved to be a wonderfully sharp yet mild blade when paired with the Weber, I shall have to try it with the iKon OC Deluxe at some point. P&B performed flawlessly, as expected. Truly enjoyable.

image.jpeg First Day of Summer Shave
    Razor: Merkur 34c HD 2014
Brush: Jerusalem Olive Wood/WD Silvertip 24/48
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
Cream: Seifenglatt Shaving Soap 'Barber Shop'
    Blade: Feather (2)
Pre shave: Tree Hut Shea Mango
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Neutrogena Balm, Old Spice Lime original Shulton AS Frosted Glass 1960s

The Merkur 34c HD ( my first DE razor) does give me some burn if I over buff, but you can get away with doing that because this razor is so mild. The Seifenglatt is very soft like a croup. Nice scent with a hint of liquorice not too strong. Lathers up well with the Silvertip. I screwed in the Feather, and checked the alignment and was good to go for my first pass WTG. A little rinse to see how we are doing and relather for a XTG pass on my face and ATG on my neck. Some more lather for touch up on my neck and we are done. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some Neutrogena Balm. Nice smooth shave with just a little burn. Now for the Vintage Shulton Old Spice Lime AS. This is the real deal and it is awesome. Highly recommend. The color reminds me of a Margarita. Ops! I think Jimmy heard me. What the heck, it's the first day of Summer, now where is that shaker of salt! Come on fellow Parrot Heads!

    WTG, touch-up

Still on the road. Pics will return later for my posts. Decent shave today. I'm in a hotel this morning and the bathroom lights were dim. Made it harder to shave that way. But decent overall. Not sure I like the scent of the Lucky Tiger Aspen. I only have a sample so no real loss there.

    Have a great day!

Thanks to my friend Byron Miner, I had a partial shave with a straight razor for the first time. I used a 6/8 on my cheeks for one pass and finished up with the Futur. It went well, except I did cut myself along the jaw. I realized that using a straight means I need a magnifying mirror, since my eyesight isn't what it used to be. It was foolish to try today - I got lucky finding the angle mostly by listening to the blade.
I also tried Mystic Waters Pompelmo & Fiori for the first time - I know, one variable at a time! The lather was very good - the scent is very green and herbaceous- not so much fruity. I finished up with BM Classic Splash and Shea Moisture Elixir.
