June 21/2016 Razor: Speedway, circa 1920 Lather: Cremo Blade: Super Maxx Brush: VDH Badger Pre ShaveOil: Homemade A/S: Gillette Gel/Brut Splash On Newspaper Date: Nov. 22,1943 I think I`m back on track again, got through 2 complete passes without shaking(hooray!) The 1st pass, WTG and a couple strokes in problem areas, smooth, clean and without incident. The 2nd pass, however, is like a backhand tennis swing (takes a lot of practice), so a couple small weepers, no big deal, washed away. A good cold water wash set my skin up for a soothing AS. The Brut Splash On comes after everything has dried, not much sting, and my face feels revitalized. Yep, a Happy Camper. It is morally uplifting to get back in the groove. Wish the same for all. Bill

SOTD June 21, 2016 Blade: GEM Stainless Razor: GEM MMOC Brush: Semogue 1520 boar Lather: Tabac shave stick Post: Witch hazel splash, Fine Platinum, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, XTG (upper face only), touch-up on neck Decent shave again with the GEM MMOC. I think the blade may be in need of changing. It felt a little less sharp than normal and I needed two passes to get the closeness I can get from one pass at times. The Tabac shave stick provides good lather but it's not as protective for me as some others. I had a little weeper on my chin and didn't get my upper lip or chin areas as close as normal. It just didn't feel slick and protective there. I do like the scent of Tabac but haven't quite gotten the hang of rubbing the stick on my face and then lathering. I need more practice. The Bunny should arrive tomorrow!! Have a great day!
TOBACCO TUESDAY PREP: VDH DELUXE RAZOR: GILLETTE REDTIP BLADE: GILLETTE SPUTNIK (1ST SHAVE) BRUSH: OMEGA S SYNTHETIC SOAP: MYSTIC WATER- SWEET BRIAR POST: PINAUD CITRUS MUSK (ICED) COLD WATER SHAVE Sorry no photo today, had to download new version of windows and have to learn everything all over again. Had a excellent 3 pass shave today, just received this Mystic Water Briar this morning from a trade on another forum. I have used MW before and get a very nice lather from it, so it came down to scent. The Sweet Briar is a very nice tobacco scent, not on the cologne side, ashtray, green tobacco, or anything like that. A bit hard to describe, but I like it a lot, very nice well made scent. The only downfall is the scent strength is pretty light, which may just be this particular tub. Getting to the shave, this was the first time with the Sputnik blades as well, and they felt smooth, so far so good. Ended up with a so called "dolphin smooth" shave, no sign of any stubble whatsoever. Very happy with the results. Finished off with some Citrus Musk that I threw some menthol crystals in, very refreshing in this hot weather. Hope everyone has a wonderful shave!
