SOTD June 23rd Merkur 34C Treet Platinum Arko Satin Tip The Purest Good morning friends! Today we have a new blade running the gauntlet of the blade trials, the Treet Platinum. A very nice smooth blade again not top tier sharp but just a notch below. Just like the Rapira SS I think this blade will pair nicely with a more aggressive razor. I don't want to jinx myself but after finding out a few new angles of attack on my neck I have been getting really comfortable shaves and issues with ingrown hairs have almost vanished entirely and my new 3 pass routine of WTG and then two opposing diagonal ATG passes have been consistently providing BBS shaves. The technique of "riding the cap" has also allowed me to pick up new razors and shave with confidence like they were old acquaintances. No burn from the alum and another great shave is in the books! Have a fantastic day my friends!
Baili TTO razor Baili Platinum Stainless blade Omega 10066 boar brush Williams SS Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe Pinaud Clubman A/S The Baili blade came with the razor so I thought "Why not try it"? It's pretty smooth and comfortable to use but not very sharp. Needed an extra pass to get a decent shave. I"ll try the blade in my Weber tomorrow and see how that goes. As for now, I'm ready as I'm going to be. Now go enjoy your day folks.

SHAVE OF THE DAY Prep: Musgo Real classic Razor: Gillette SupersSuperSpeed Blade: Schick Twin Brush: Maggard 24mm synthetic Soap: PAA Clubguy Post: Pinaud Clubman 2 pass shave this morning. The scent of Clubguy is similar to Clubman but not as powdery IMO, but a very nice barbershop scent. Whipped up a nice lather with the Maggard synthetic. The Twin Blade I found in the den this morning, so Lord knows howany shaves it has on it, but for some reason it didn't make it to the blade bank. Let's just say it will after this shave. Lot of tugging and pulling, but face doesn't feel burned so it's all good. Hope everyone has a great shave!
Thursday Shave Brush- RazoRock Tri-Colored Razor- The Bunny with Wild comb and Schick Type G Blade- Schick (1) Soap- Stirling Barbershop Post Care- Crystal Alum Thayers Witch Hazel with grapefruit EO and M-Bomb Pinaud Bay Rum I did a shave off between the Bunny and my Type G (I determined it was a G this morning, not an E like I thought). I used the Bunny in my right side and the Schick in the left. I loaded new blades in both, prepared some excellent lather with the Stirling and did three passes with each, WTG, XTG and ATG. This was my first go with the Schick and I started with it. Very light weight and easy to maneuver, also easy to find the right angle. The small head makes getting into small spots like my upper lip very easy. First pass gave good reduction. Next up was the Bunny. I prefer the weight of this razor to the Schick, it just feels better. A little tougher getting to the upper lip because of the head size but I got even better reduction from it. I relathered and went XTG with both. The Schick definitely feels different than the Bunny,I had to remind myself about the pressure because of the light weight. Great reduction again from both. Another round of lather for my ATG pass. I got a small weeper from the Bunny but that was the only issue from that side. Final results- a draw. I'm fully BBS on the right side from the Bunny and a very solid DFS on the left from the Schick. Had I not limited myself to just three passes I would have touched up for a BBS. The alum was completely silent on the Schick side, a slight burn on the Bunny side hence the draw. I'm glad to know I can get similar results from another razor since the Bunny leaves next Monday but I'm really going to miss it. Have a great day folks!

Yesterday's shave, second try with the Krect Spiral Curve. First shave was with a platinum blade; too harsh (plats always are, don't even know why I still have some). So I tried a reliably mild Big Ben. That did not pair well with this razor either; it seems to want something sharper so I ended up DFS at best and had to work at it. Today's shave, •same razor with a Shark •Cremo Cooling An improvement. DFS+ but with a few nicks. The razor works fine but just isn't quite up to the comfortable shave of any Gillette. I've gotten minor nicks with all three blades. Looking at it I'm not sure why...gap and exposure seem nothing unusual. Time to break out an Astra, if I still have one. •Menthol'd witch hazel. Will apply some Afta later.
