I've heard of using a "Frog's Hair" as a unit of measurement....but if you used that 1912 on that bronze frog.....there just ain't gonna be a single frog's hair left to measure with....:happy097:

Glad you are getting on so well with your 'Streamline'....it sure is a 'Classic Beauty'....are you using the stropper that came with this razor to strop that Chess Blade ?
  4. Beautiful Set DC.....Congratulations! You should be digging that for many many years....AND your grand kids should be digging it for many many MORE years to come after that.....ha,ha.....Those razors are like the 'Terminator'....giving Great Shaves....like...forever!
  5. The scent is fantastic. Tonight I lathered it with my Boar brush. It worked well but the synthetic made a better lather.

As for my shave I used my British 1912 with the Chess blade. I had a nice 3 pass shave. The stropping blade is a nice smooth blade. I do strop it after each shave.

Excellent shave this morning, the PAL Adj. is a magnificent injector and Haslinger represents everything I love in a shave soap performance wise. Slick, cushiony and protective, just wonderful. Three easy passes and I'm silky smooth and refreshed. Have a great day friends. :)

Silky Smooth and refreshed.....Man....that word "refreshed" cannot be over emphasized.....When something as simple as a good shave, can refresh us.....Give us those Zin moments......and sending us on our way "REFRESHED" and having a "GREAT DAY"......What a great and rewarding hobby this is....

When I'm touring with a band....and I know if I grab a great shave after traveling.....That I'll feel REFRESHED and ready for something GREAT.......You know thats PRICELESS !!!

    Today's Shave: Monday June 27, 2016

    L"Essor Rasoir
L'Essor CDSF wedge blade, freshly honed
    Plisson synthetic brush
    Stirling Electric Sheep soap
    Pinaud Lilac Vegetal aftershave

I told my wife that I'd picked up a French hoe and now she's not speaking to me.

But seriously folks, the L'Essor is a fascinating razor, shaving similar to other European wedge blade razors such as the Rapide and the C. V. Heljestrand. Both the razor and Blade were made in France. I don't know anything about the steel used in the blade, but it honed up very nicely. Turning a knob at the base of the handle moves a latch that secures the blade.

There is not much information available on this razor. Waits acknowledges its existence and that's about it. I'd really like to know when it was introduced (anyone?). If it was introduced prior to 1930 it means that we've all been wrong in calling the Gem MMOC the first TTO razor.

  18. Busted out the F tonight
    [IMG]

I have been using my SE's lately. So tonight trying to decide what razor to use. I spied the F looking forlorn. I broke my heart seeing him like that. As I had a Feather loaded in I knew it was going to be a sweet shave.

Three pass DFS BBS Combo tonight. Face and jaw super clean. Just the slightest of hair around the old adams apple.

I so much love my SE's, but my injectors give by far my best shaves.

    Have a great week.
