The Haul: June 2016

Very nice haul, if sny of these are new to you, your in for a treat. Although, i never got used to the longer handle of the BB. The fatboy is the favorite of many.

 

Bought a new shaving bowl today.

 

The only new to me would be the black beauty . I have the others already. I was hoping it was a V2 for my birth year and quarter . But it isn't.

Wow, beautiful Jeremy!

 

Finally found "The Admiral"! And at a reasonable price too. Also another black beauty, ball end tech, fat handle tech with plastic box, and two notched super speeds. I don't have kids but thought the message on the shave mug was unique. Not the usual "father", "doctor", or "don't forget me"... It a Napco mug and says "For our new little shaver".

 

Nicely done! Don't rub on the gold much, as it will flake off.

 

Just got the mail, and I finally got a Lime version of the Old Spice Lantern, and it's full!

 

Nice! I have the green lantern, but empty. Just looking for the yellow/gold one still.

 

Oh hell, your pictures didn't show up for my first reply.... My lantern is only half a lantern. I didn't know they were full round ones.

 

The round bottles are from 73-75. Your version is from 76-80. Still the original formula.

 

Oh good...more versions to be on the hunt for.

 

Bought a couple of tucks of Wilkinson Swords. It is one of the few "common" blades I haven't tried, so I spent the whole $3.00.

Beautiful bowl!

 

It's made by local artisan Robert McMillan. His website is Robert McMillan Pottery. It was in a local gift shop. It was a tag calling it a shaving scuttle but of course it's not a scuttle. I had to buy it as I liked the look of it. The lid doesn't fit snugly. All of his pottery is made by him, by hand.

 

I'd like one, if he makes them.

 

I didn't see them on his website but the store I was at said they might be getting more, as I bought the only one on the shelf. I can check in a few days for you. It was $34.00 Canadian = approximately $26-27.00 US??
If you contact him he will likely respond. He may have more at his studio.

 

Check in on him, if you want, in a week or two. If there is another like that on the shelf, pm me. That is if you want to, i dont want to impose on you. But if your so inclined, it is a very nice bowl, I'd like to get one. Thanks, d

 

Today I found the cutest thing: a tiny 1/2 oz. glass bottle of vintage Skin Bracer. So small you can hide it in the palm of your hand. It's half full but cost me all of a quarter, so a refill from Phoenix/Blue Cross/Vi-Jon is no problem at all.

 

Eye wateringly good.
As I've said before, beware getting pulled over after using this. You'll smell like a bottle of peppermint schnapps.
