  1. Try adding some menthol crystals to it. I call it ICED Florida Water.

  2. Looks like you found some nice things John. That Roman Brio is interesting stuff, kind of smells a bit like Clubman to my nose. I feel the same way about posting all acquisitions, sometimes I keep new gear a secret so I don't look crazy. Enjoy the new stuff John!

  3. I 2nd this opinion. The menthol makes Florida Water that much better. Its a shame is doesn't already come mentholated.
  4. Thanks bud. I will check that one and if they are all gone, I will check the Walgreens around the corner

  6. An unknown soap, a bottle with top, and AVON whale Stein.

The soap looks clean and unused, no lid so of unknown variety. I'll lather it and see what happens. The bottle topper needs a new cork badly, hope I can figure something out. And the whale stein to go with my nautical (old Spice) themed mantel.

No razor to try the twin blades in atm. :(

Will need a soap for the new to me Seaforth! mug.
  8. You can't use a twin in that PAL but won't need one, pop a blade in that bad boy and get to work! :happy036:......................:transport022:
  9. I couldn't help myself, my soap acquisition disorder has got out of control. The following are new products I picked up today:

    Phoenix & Beau Sanskrit
    P&B Solaris
    P&B Alban
    Mike's Natural- Barbershop
    Samples:
    Dapper Dragon- Helios
    Captains Choice- Lime soap
    LASSC Black Fern

Tried the Sanskrit for the first time today, the scent is much better once it was mixed up well, very similar to Old Spice but I think I like Sanskrit more. Very nice scent.
  10. TWSBI Mini VAC F nib

  11. Even though there were a few of these in cased sets, I just couldn't pass this one up. The only bidder at $2.00 + $3.00 shipping and used my Ebay bucks equals $0.00 total.......... IMG_0586.JPG
  12. Interesting stuff indeed.
I've bought more than a few "older" aftershaves mostly just to have the bottles on the shelf but some of them still smell decent and get used occasionally. I wasn't familiar with Roman Brio but the price was low enough and it was a full bottle so I purchased it having never smelled it. I've opened it a few times mostly to close it back up because I can't figure out if I'd ever want to use it or not.
And then something strange happened. One morning I showered with Brut bar soap and then used Brut deodorant and Brut aftershave splash. A few minutes had passed and then while sitting at my desk I opened the bottle of Roman Brio again for just a test sniff and I couldn't smell it. Apparently the smell of Brut cancels out the smell of Roman Brio. Several hours later I sniffed again and could again smell the Roman Brio, long after my morning blast of Brut had worn off. Not sure what that means but it struck me as odd because my bottle of Roman Brio has a very distinctive smell. It was very strange to not be able to smell it after using Brut.
  13. I had to refill the Florida Water spot in my den. 3 more bottles, good stuff.

  14. Right after I finished shaving this morning, the doorbell rang and I received this

    P1030033.jpg

The blade was oiled and I left it that way, so it's not as shiny as it could be. But isn't it a beauty?

6/8 wedge, ebony scales, nice weight and balance - looking forward to shaving on Monday :happy088:
  15. My richwood came in..
It looks damn good. No issues with the wooden box. The razor has 3 of 4 outside teeth bent in, but no cracks to the handle. There is some plating issues to the under side of the cap. Overall I'm pleased with it..it looks good next to the Bostonian

  16. I got one of those in the mail today too! Of course, it's due to a mix up and the Maestro Livi I am waiting for landed in Phoenix. I am envious that you get to keep yours. Been in contact with the person waiting on this one, who has my Mastro Livi, and we agreed to take each other's razor for a spin, so this is tonight's shave before I send it on.

  17. Brut is a strong scent so I can believe it. I have had my nose become used to the Romans Brio where I can't smell it but others do. It has good longevity as well, though the scent is not for everyone it does remind me a bit of Clubman or Avon Wild Country, but not exactly like either. The bottle is cool and stands out since it is a Roman column (not sure if that's spelled right).
  18. Man I really like these new Phoenix & Beau soaps I picked up the other day. At first I didn't care for most of the scents, but they have grown on me. Especially Sanskrit, first whiff from the tub and I thought it was awful, scraped out a little but to bowl lather and the EO mixed and morphed into a beautiful scent.
  19. Today I received these blades packed in a nice plastic container from Turkey and a bar of Florida water bath soap.

  20. Nice haul! I'm intrigued by the Florida Water bath soap.
