Saturday Shave Brush- RazoRock Tri-Colored Razor- Clauss Fremont, O. U.S.A. SR, PAL InjectoMatic Blade- Schick (2) Soap- Route 66 Barbershop Hop Post Care- Crystal Alum Thayers Witch Hazel with grapefruit EO and M-Bomb Osage Rub My second attempt at a straight razor and I didn't bleed so we're calling it successful. I made the wonderful Route 66 lather a little thin and lathered my right side. I had a couple days growth and I had a hard time getting the razor to cut smoothly. I did my cheek and then lathered my left side. Using my left hand, which worked better than with a DE, I started and had the same problem, it just wasn't cutting good. I stopped, did a full lather and let my PAL eat. It devoured my beard in no time flat. I then lathered my right side again and tried the straight. This pass went much better, no pulling or tugging and I did my cheek and neck. I then lathered my left side and using my left hand again I completed my left cheek and neck. I then used the PAL for my chin and upper lip. My third pass was ATG with the PAL and I finished BBS smooth with almost zero feedback from the alum. Splashed on some Thayers and finished with the Osage Rub for a successful shave. Have a great day folks!

Today I took out my Henry Sears and Sons and ended up with a DFS! I might need to rehone this razor as the tip of it wasn't very efficient around my nose. Other than that, it was a real nice shave.

Today HYTONE 6/8 (extra, I think) full hollow spike This was one of my razors I bought to learn how to hone. I did not find an abundance of info about the maker. But I surmised that it was made around the first half of the 1900's. It is very well made, and super easy to use. It honed easily and gives supurb audio feedback. It may be from obscure origins, but I highly recommend this razor.

It's SR Sunday, so you know what that means.... SRS 7/10/16 Pre: Nivea face wash SR: Antonio Tadross Razor: Schick L1 Blade: Chick Brush: TGN Finest Soap: Lo Haiku Post: cold water rinse, Alum, witch hazel, Nivea sensitive aftershave balm, The Veg. I'm dedicating Sundays to my straight razor, so this is my first SR Sunday. I'm not saying I wont use a SR on other days, I'm just going to use my SR each Sunday to get better with it. I'm practicing my skin stretching and using my left hand with my other razors even if I'm not using a SR. Tonight I got a really good shave with two passes with the SR and minimum clean up with the Schick, not even a full pass with the Schick. I did draw a little blood from a mole on my right cheek up high, it stopped fairly quickly with a swipe from my alum block. I also got 1 dime size spot of irritation according to the alum on the right side of my neck. I did get a BBS shave despite all of that, now onto the report. I made a wet lather and made sure it was slick for my first pass WTG, starting on my left cheek as that's my weakest hand to use. I concentrated on my angles and moved onto the right side and got great reduction and heard the razor as it sliced the stubble off my face. For my second pass I went XTG, and got good reduction again according to the sound my razor made as it sliced through the remaining stubble. I did minimal clean up ATG and was done to a great BBS shave. I rinsed my face off with cold water and applied the alum feeling the sting on my mole and the spot of irritation but other than that it was quite. I rinsed off again and applied the witch hazel patting my face with it, then applied the aftershave balm fanning it with a hand towel till it was soaked in and dry. Next came the Veg and it tingled to say hi, I'm working as I felt the skin on my face tighten up. I'm hoping to get better with my SR and not have to do any clean up in the future with another razor. Till then, I hope all of you had a Great shave today!
It sounds like your well on your way on getting satisfactory ++ results from your initial SR shaves! If once or twice a week fits your schedule, more power to you, especially since you're achieving good shaves. I HAD to use my SR DAILY as I need the practice. i used a DE razor to touch-up for the first month or so. I also have 'stache and a soul patch so these areas are avoided. I get to work on my detail 'trimming' around the upper & lower lip.
A great shave today. 352 Mann&Federlein 6/8, custom acrylic scales. Oscar11 Silver tip badger brush, ( I like Steve's brushes, I have 5 and a handle waiting for a knot) Brutal shave cream Wars Zero balm Brutal aftershave.
