    Blade: Chinese Schick
    Razor: Schick G1

    Lather: La Toja
Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Nice shave this morning with the G1. I had been using an L-type and the Bunny razor for the past couple of weeks so it was nice to get back to my favorite little razor.

La Toja was fantastic - nice scent, easy lather, rich, protective, and enjoyable. It's quickly growing on my list of favorite soaps.

I hope you all have a great day!

  2. Hey, how'd you know she likes quiet walks on the beach? :happy097:
  3. I'm on it!

    Too funny Mr. B. :happy097:
  4. I knew you'd know about that....and I was thinking of a private beach in Venice Beach FL where she could get that all over tan too.....:happy097:...I'm sure your Hussy is very familier with that beach...:happy102:
  5. I tried mine for the first time last night...after some more practice, it may become my favorite over the Tech. Gonna try the L type tonight.
  6. July 12, 2016 (Birthday Shave)

    Razor: Schick G1
    Blade: Chick (1)
    Brush: VdH boar
    Soap: Cella

A week or so ago, I managed to snag a great deal on a Schick G1 from eBay and it arrived yesterday, just in time for my birthday. This is only my second Injector razor with my other being a J1.

Initial thoughts- Boy, is this thing tiny. I think I must have a broken sense of scale because I look at all these pictures of razors and they seem like Thor's hammer until I hold one in person. The G1 is definitely smaller than the J1 if only because of the latter's long handle. This turns out to be a good thing for me, though, as I tend to hold the J1 too close to the end. Another thing- the G1 definitely seems to be louder than the J1. I assume that this is something in the design of the two heads.

I was a little worried about aggressiveness, but that seems to have been unnecessary. I did have a lapse somewhere, though, and ended up with one small weeper which closed with a cold water splash.

All in all, a very nice DFS and a great start to the day. I definitely need to spend more time with this razor, though, and probably try a few different soaps with it.

One quick question which I also asked over on another thread- Most of the G1's I've seen have a smooth metal head. Mine has a textured/stippled head. Any significance?
  7. I had my first shave with a G1 this morning. A bit different than my experiences with the J1, though not overly so. I definitely need to spend some time and get it dialed in.

  11. Some heads have a pebbled texture - no real significance that I know of. The same is true of the type E as well. :git:

Excellent 3 pass shave this morning
    Razor: Bunny v3/no comb/Chick blade (2)
    Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
    Lather: Stirling Barbershop
    Post: Nivea Cooling Balm
This razor shaves better every time I use it. Technique is very solid with it now

The shave angle for the bunny has become much more natural to me after my ~9 shaves with it. Where as before it did feel a little awkward, but I actually quite like it now because the angle makes it easier to shave with light pressure and makes for easy going ATG passes on the upper lip and other tighter areas. Have a good day everyone!

  13. Thanks Karl! It's my nicest repeater yet. I still love the way they shave and look.

Now if I could only find the elusive B3 :angry017:

    Today's Shave: Tuesday July 12, 2016

    Cobra Classic
    Feather AC Pro (7)
    Plisson synthetic brush
Chiseled Face Groomatorium Santa Paula Citrus shaving soap & aftershave

Talking about a razor makes me want to use it - I'm sure nobody else is like that.

Today's shave was just what I've come to expect from the Cobra - super smooth and super close. As discussed earlier, the razor is not overly aggressive - but it is necessary to pay attention!

If I have to choose between the Cobra and the ATT SE1 . . . .

    Fortunately, I don't.

The new citrus scent from Chiseled Face Groomatorium is a primarily orange scent that is not sweet - it's like cutting a fresh orange in half. A great summer scent.

  15. I'm not sure if posts of the Shake Sharp would be allowed on this thread ?

  16. Looks like a SE to me! I know it uses a DE blade but it shaves as a SE.
  17. Well, I for one have never seen a pebbled head.

I sure hope you're not making fun of @Billyfergie 's head?!!
