I'm a firefighter. When I first started joining forums, I was assigned to a truck company (hook & ladder). "Truckie" or "Truckman" are terms used for guys assigned to truck companies. So I went with Truckman.

Of course, now I'm assigned to an engine company......

Hahaha. I thought I was answering the question of 'explain your avatar'. Let me try this again. I chose profsaffel because I'm an adjunct professor of history and my last name is Saffel. Ok. There. Done. Too many glasses of wine, apparently. Maybe I should just go to bed.

"Quill" is an archaic slang term for a bookkeeper (did you know that "bookkeeper" is the only word in the English language with three consecutive sets of double letters?).

I live in Texas and was brought up to be a CPA ...

Yeah, I know, sorta lame - but what do you expect from a bookkeeper?

You gotta be able to write to need a fountain pen. I'm okay with numbers, and I can read writing real good, but I'm sorta weak on writing reading when I have to do it by hand! And besides that, every time I use a fountain pen, those damn old ink splotches in my shirt pocket take away from that sophisticated look that I work so hard on culturing! :happy102

    gatto *Not a dude*

well, I was 13 and I couldn't decide what to name my new Asheron's Call character and my dad suggested something in another language because well.. I don't know. Anyway I picked gatto but it wasn't available so I went with gattobanco (white cat) which I later learned was spelled wrong. Anyway I've been gatto or gattobanco most places since then.

    MTgrayling Rocket Man

My name is part where I live, MT, and part my favorite fish, grayling.

I chose this moniker many years ago to honor the disappearing fluvial Montana Grayling which historically inhabited nearly all suitable streams and rivers above the Great Falls of the Missouri River and are now restricted to just a few miles of the upper Big Hole River.

Mine has a couple of reasons behind it....the simplest one is the Ms....I'm female, and then the Blackwolf part comes from the yearly wolf count with my fav Dept of Natural Resouces warden. I'm always lucky enough to spot the Alpha female black wolf first! We have a few wolves here in Northern WI.

MK are initials. A while back, I stumbled on MK-ULTRA on the Internet(s) and thought, wow!, our tax dollars at work. Read all about it!

Blast! Attempted to post link to wikipedia article, but I don't have 5 posts yet.

I'm afraid you will need to look it up, if you're at all interested.

Ramaniac is Ram Maniac-my Yahoo ProPick'em call sign. But I got out of that because it took too much of my time. I think I made it up to the top 8% in the nation for football picks, which was good.

Now, since I have a 1995 Dodge Ram with 205K miles (original motor, tranny no rebuilds) I guess it still fits. What a great truck, first year of the 2nd gen. extended cab, purchased it with 6 miles on it.

Now I use it on Gasbuddy, B&B, and just about everywhere except the Dodge Forum where I thought it was taken. Now I have it and 1BigRamaniac. Being 6'4" and 300+pounds it fits.

Mine comes from the God of War video games, which I happen to like quite a bit. The main character is bald and muscular, as am I.

"Blades" came from the year 1994 during my Air Force days. I carried just 2 knives back then, and when I was stationed at Kunsan AB, Korea one of the guys called me "Blades". When the internet started getting bigger and I needed a name for all the cutlery forums that were popping up--"Blades" became useful again.
